@zeldatra It's called a Regular Expression. They're more complex than simple wildcards. The punctuation indicates different rules to apply when matching.

@techdisk This machine can handle 200 requests a second. Obviously we'd prefer not to, but the odd person using an auto-refresh on static 502 page probably won't kill us.

@flamingpandaomg As of this morning we use the cloudflare CDN, which, alongside speed improvements, includes "Suspicious request protection" for shielding against Denial of Service attacks. Once every 30 seconds probably isn't enough to trip it, but I'll admit I don't know what the threshholds actually are.

http://rainbowdash.net failed 81 times over 21 minutes, the most recent at 17:26:35 today (6 minutes ago). The last failure was a 502 status.
