!calgary !college MECH210 is an intesresting class. It consists primarily of me re-learning geometry and trig more or less from scratch. And also teaching myself physics from scratch. I think I've already done more studying for this course than I did for all of my courses combined last semester.

@abigpony If we want one, we need to actually comission someone proper. It's such a large, complex and above all LONG project, if we ever want to see one complete, we're gonna need to put up some financial incentive.

@abigpony I don't want to get into the merits of the argument or the authors issues with paypal specifically, but the argument persuaded the other users of this site, which is where the rift between you and the people who were offended by you lies. FWIW, I escalated the posts that got you banned to an administrator for their verdict, rather than getting involved myself at the time, as I considered myself too emotionally involved to make a good decision.

@pumpkinhill What we understand: This is bad. What we don't understand fully: EXACTLY how much it will affect us. Say what you want, but you probably haven't lived with censored internet. Most of us don't know what its like! We need to know exactly how bad it will be, so we will just make just a bit more effort, because unless the US gets 50 more representatives against this stuff, it will pass (PIPA) in the senate. We need to motivate the people making the decisions just a bit towards what the people want, instead of what the businesses want

@the20percent So what do you wish me to do past those emails and whatnot that I've already done? I understand full well how inconvenient and terrible the outcome will be, but my voice can only do so much past what I've already done. Having no internet access at all for a week was more than annoying enough, but I managed. That's not the point though and the thing is that I understand how inconvenienced it would be and how privileged we are right now to have it.

@ponyveteran !vgp Metal Gear isn't a stealth game. It's an action game with stealth elements. Like Deus Ex: HR, or Splinter Cell Conviction.

@thatonepony The big problem with weapons in Mass Effect 1, though, is that they're all the same. Pick any three shotguns, the only difference between them is their stats. || Meanwhile, over in Mass Effect 2, compare the Eviscerator, the Scimitar, and the Claymore. They all handle completely differently; they're each better at certain things and worse at others, and they each compliment a different playstyle. The same is true of all of the other weapon types (though as a Vanguard main with a lot of experience, I think the differences between Shotguns are more pronounced). This adds an element of variety that ME1 desparately lacked. || While I don't agree with all of the changes they made in Mass Effect 2, I think the end result is a vast improvement in terms of gameplay. Shame I can't say the same for the story, but you can't win 'em all. !vgp

!tes !vgp Does anyone else remember #Morrowind? And how there were only, like, three NPCs that the game considered to be "essential"; how, even though they were essential, the game would still let you kill them, and it would just give you a message saying "hey, that guy was really important, you might want to load an old save if you want to actually finish the main quest"; how it would let you keep playing even after killing them, and how there were still other ways to finish the main quest without them? Wasn't that just the most amazing thing ever, not to mention really fantastic game design? || In other news, I'm kind of annoyed with #Skyrim at the moment. Can't imagine why.
