My main computer one day decided to come out of hibernation without LAN, turns out I had an error code 10 on it ( device could not start ). I tried reinstalling my OS to no avail so I brought it to the shop for warranty. 2 days later I get a phonecall where they tell me that it just worked when they hooked it up... ...What could have been the issue with it in the first place ?

A friend of mine shined his Q250 flashlight in my face to demonstrate to me how bright it was. Afterwards he did spend like 10 minutes bragging about how it was the best flashlight ever whilst I was still having the ghost of that flashlight in my eyes. Today I got him back using my Olight X18. I won that armsrace. ... Turns out that there are a lot of advertisements of the Q250 flashlight on the Dutch interwebs that make it seem like it'll be an illegal product sooner rather than later because it is too bright. All I can do is laugh at the people who are not even willing to do 1 minute research to find out that most things on the internet are absolutely full of unrefined manure, enjoy your overpriced overhyped flashlight I guess :+

I need 2 DDR / StepMania "controllers" for PC. Now I could buy 2 from Shanghai for a grand total of 28 Euro. Or from a local store for a grand total of 60 Euro. And knowing how great the quality is of some chinese knockoffs I have bought over the years, I am leaning towards the idea of buying them from a local store. Also note that I am cleverishly leaving out my wheight, which can also be considdered a factor.

I just had a conversation with someone about evolution regarding it's core principles. But when your conversation partner tells you something like "Nature controls evolution". Yeah, you might be dealing with someone who has heard the bells, but has no idea where the sound came from... Which is a Dutch proverb, and I have no idea what the English one is.

Why are there people who do not know their ABC's ? Seriously. I just had to spell out an e-mail adress over a bad phone line, so I began spelling Delta Echo November Kilo Tango Alpha November Kilo, when I hear on the other side "Hold up, how do you spell echo" ?

@adiwan Oh, I'll dust off my old 2002 era laptop... ... ... I should probably try and find a Windows XP installation though, for I believe what is currently installed is called Debian Squeeze or Lenny

@critialcloudkicker You can install Outcast within a virtual machine. Luckily the game doesn't require 3D acceleration.

I'm pleasantly surprised that a Outcast remake was announced. As much as I like the original it felt really clunky back then and it aged very poorly.

@zennx Pointless resource gathering game loop. In Minecraft I don't mind the grinding for resources because they have an imminent use for building. In No Man's Sky it is less fun because it all ends up for repairing stuff that constantly breaks.

@adiwan : In case I fubar my original XboX when trying to turn it into a mame machine, I guess I can always as a last resort just gut it and put a raspberry pi mame machine in there ? ... Now since I have 0 raspberry pi experience I have to ask, can I just get a raspberry pi from the cheapest outlet, and the software from an online repository ? cus those "kits" seem mighty expensive.

@mushi Well, there is an Oddish, Squirtle, and what I think is an Aerodactyl... Also it appears to be night. But I am not sure if I can recommend this game to anyone unless if you can catch at least 10 pokestops in a 5 KM stroll ( that both starts with, and ends with, your house )
