      1. @pinhooves It's because I failed. I couldn't stop the spoilers.

        1. @ceruleanspark So, he's not coming back? :(

            1. @ceruleanspark He was a really good pony. I'll be very sad if he doesn't come back. :c

              1. @pinhooves Well, hopefully he will. I'm sure he was just angry and disappointed in the community in the heat of the moment. (I was too. So was @cptscoot)

                1. @ceruleanspark I'm purdy sure he'll be back.

                2. @ceruleanspark Other ponies should be considerate and realize that some others can't watch a new episode yet. It ruins it for others if you spoil it.

                  1. @pinhooves That's what I said! First time I said that, Cabal yelled at me even!

                    1. @ceruleanspark But it isn't fair that others ruin it. :c

                      1. @pinhooves Apparently the only thing that matters is that people get to please themselves without thinking of anypony else. The fact that I had to have a serious multiway argument with people about the concept of "Thinking of others before yourselves" depresses me no end.

                        1. @ceruleanspark I wish they could discuss spoilers in the forums, so that not everypony will be spoiled.

                        2. @ceruleanspark There's the EqD post they do for every episode and I'm going to guess forums are also an option? Either way, just tagging it or ignoring others wishes completely is just rude. It'd be like walking into public and just using the bathroom. It's not a problem, but not everyone wants to see it. That's why there's specific places designated for where it's accepted.

                          1. @fallinwinter What bothered me wasn't so much the spoilers themselves, as, like the idiots, I'd seen the episode, but the fact that morons were willing to start a fight with me over a perfectly reasonable request. Attempting to get moderators or site admins involved in your quest to ruin it for other people is just assinine

                            1. @ceruleanspark Well is there any actual rules for spoilers and things? It seems like a ruling on it would be warranted. Even a one day ban (The day it is released) would be decently sufficient.

Monday, 24-Oct-11 10:03:30 UTC from web
                              1. @fallinwinter There's no rules about anything. People just hide behind whatever portion of the assumed social contract suits them at the time. Don't wanna see swearing? Claim there's a rule about it! Don't wanna see tagged NSFW stuff in the timeline? Pretend there's a rule about it! Wanna post spoilers? There's no rule about that!

                                1. @ceruleanspark The problem for me would be the fact that they should be moderating those things at least to some extent.

Monday, 24-Oct-11 10:09:40 UTC from web
                                  1. @fallinwinter I'm of the opinion that if you want that, you need written rules that people can refer to, not some nebulous set of implied and not really all that well enforced community guidelines. You want no swearing? Write it down. You want NSFW content to be allowed if hosted offsite and tagged? Write it down. If it was written that spoilers were allowed, people would be a lot more willing to accept "You need to get the hell out if you didn't watch it" as a response.

                                    1. @ceruleanspark That's my point. I agree that said things should exist, but in truth I can't do anything about it if they haven't laid down rules to follow. This irks me somewhat.

                          2. @fallinwinter What makes me PARTICULARLY mad is that one of those pigkiwiers has the nerve to try and imply I'm a bad example for other ponies.

Monday, 24-Oct-11 10:02:59 UTC from StatusNet Desktop
                            1. @ceruleanspark Don't let 'em get to you. Whether they think you're a bad example, that's their deal. It doesn't change who you are, just how poorly they judge people. (Granted to judge someone at all shows poor judgement in itself.)
