@abigpony Yep yep, back at home now - drive was fairly easy overall :)
Thursday, 12-May-11 00:28:59 UTC from web-
Out on the road right now; still probably about 3 hours from home. Anyone up to anything fun/interesting today?
-
@haganbmj I had a final at 7 wasn't fun but I destroyed it so that's cool what's up with you?
-
@abigpony Down as in not doing well? What's up?
-
@celestia DOWN WITH RP!... I've spent days on that stuff. Correction, I've wasted days on it.
-
@extremedash Whoo - way to destroy that final! I'm not up too much, a bit bored in the car is all xD
-
@celestia An epic battle I am sure.
-
@celestia I've never RPed here, it was in my younger days.
-
@celestia Agreed, never again.
-
@abigpony Ahhh that's much better to hear - :D ~ bit of a dull day though.
-
@haganbmj Yah I have to go pick my room mate from the bus stop so I'm about to be in the car
-
@celestia Actually, I do not see this in the ToS or the FAQ. Though I don't really see the rule about swearing there, either, no matter how many times I point this out.
-
@retl I think no swearing is just universal to pony sites really.
-
@abigpony Yeah - should've clarified on that. Bit of a dull day on my end due to the driving. Been on the road about 4.5 hours so far, which, while not that much, is a span of time I haven't had to endure in a number of months. xD
-
@starlightbolt As a moral sort of thing and recognition of the target audience, I could see why this should be the case. I don't care for swearing, myself. Not even in clopfics. But stuff like that really should be added in if it's going to be enforced, rather than citing point 8 to justify everything and not have it clear upfront to users what is and isn't the expected etiquette of users.
-
@celestia PG-13 certainly permits most swear words.
-
@celestia Aw no more Phoenix.
-
@celestia I've never seen @administrator do anything more than give warnings for swearing. The general line seems to be that it's acceptible within reason, but don't go overboard with it. As for roleplaying, rp was split off to a separate site for a reason (a few reasons, actually), so yeah. RP stays in rp.
-
@celestia Quite.
-
@puzzlemint posts have been removed before for profanity.
-
@celestia Strict interpretation in most contexts I've seen refers to the practice of exercising rules exactly as they are written. Though I understand your intent. But right, if the Phoenix Wright silliness is considered RP, then perhaps what does and does not constitute RP should be defined more explicitly within the body of the FAQ.
-
@retl Agreed.
-
@retl and personally I would like to see more casual one-off RP sort of stuff here. It livens things up - like @derpyhooves coming by once in a while to give everypony a muffin, for example. I don't see a problem with stuff like that.
-
@celestia I'm not American, so your references to past US politicians are lost on me.
-
@puzzlemint heck, I *am* American and I'm not sure I comprehend what @celestia was saying there. @magicrussia ♥
-
@scribus Eh?! I definitely do not remember that. Will have to watch it again (also that was a fun movie)
-
@celestia I appreciate that you are trying to clarify in your post, but the fact remains that there is no explicit definition in the FAQs or ToS of either rainbowdash.net, rp.rainbowdash.net, or any of its software parents, which is the main issue. I don't think it is one that you can resolve alone.
-
@scribus I don't remember that. Wait I think I've only seen it on the TV.
-
@haganbmj ...you didnt even drive did you >.>
-
@starlightbolt Of course not. lol - I just slept half the time.
-
@haganbmj lol Well I'd expect the drive was really easy for you then
-
@starlightbolt Oh most certainly xD
