@scribus G1 was good, I've never seen any G2. G3 is somewhat insipid, but not overly harmful. The thing people have seen that causes the trauma are the 3.5 "Babies" shorts.

@ceruleanspark G1 was kinda bad, but it was made in the 80's so it could have been a lot worse (there were some great 80's shows, just not that one) but until G4 every following MLP. Generation has made me want to resort to drink when watching them, becoming progressivley worse each time. 3.5 and its "baby" shorts were the absolute worst.

@leonkfox G1 wasn't below par for girls programming at the time though. The male audience was the one that got the good shows of the 80s.

@leonkfox My fondness for G1 MLP is purely retroactive based on what I've seen. It started as a sort of hipster-trolling, but I ended up finding it entirely tolerable.

@ceruleanspark Well, I AM of the opinion that G4 is the only watchable/enjoyable gen of MLP, I can sort of understand why someone might have fondness for G1, as I do for Nelvana's Care Bear show from the same decade.
