That mangoesing Hitler salute hidden by a hand wave.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 12:54:48 UTC from web-
@awlditzy I always do the hitler salute when stopping the bus
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 12:55:44 UTC from web-
@nerthos I've only done it a few times at work for emphasis, when goose-stepping and heel-clicking wasn't enough.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 12:57:15 UTC from web-
@awlditzy I remember hanging around with friends one night and we found a bigass bonfire. Some idiot had set fire to a pile of branches and stuff under the electricity lines, so I told one of the neighbors that was watching the fire from his front gate to call the firemen before the lines got damaged. Since he ignored us, we then (all blonde-ish, metal-looking) baptized the bonfire "el fuego del Führer" and starting doing hitler salutes and stuff at the fire. It was a fun night. One of my friends also chanted a hilarious "nazi" song
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:02:19 UTC from web-
@nerthos Somehow imitating them is just too fun to pass up.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:06:04 UTC from web-
@awlditzy I know man. It's both really funny and makes people who need to grow up really angry.

@nerthos My father for one would be extremely ashamed.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:09:43 UTC from web-
@awlditzy Your father then needs to grow up.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:10:54 UTC from web-
@nerthos Oh no, he's done growing up completely xD My foster father however learned German and apparently when he was a teenager was very fascinated by the style of Germany in WWII.

@mastertdi I have a completely neutral opinion on the name Erwin because I've never met someone with that name.

@nerthos Me either but I can just tell that wherever Erwin is, he's a major nerd.

@nerthos the only nazi I strive to be anything like is the guy who almost blew up hitler. The difference being i wouldn't be a nazi.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:18:23 UTC from web-
@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual Rommel wasn't particularly passionate about the nazi ideology, and was forced to commit suicide for taking part in the planning of operation valkyre. He was also one of the greatest military minds to ever live and could have gotten more victories in the war if not for the stupid orders the guys at the top gave him. Nazi Germany had a lot of great people and it's pretty retarded to say "I don't want to be like any of them!"
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:21:23 UTC from web-
@nerthos I don't think it's retarted to not want to be like any group that was involced in starting a war that killed millions and commiting genocide that killed millions more. That price of admission is to high for me to say I'd want to be like any Nazi. Now having the intelligence of some of the brilliant minds is one thing but being like them is completely seperate.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:24:43 UTC from web-
@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual You seem to forget the war was as much the fault of the countries that won WWI and particularly of France's constant harassment of German citizens than it was the nazi's fault. Even within Germany Hitler was seen as something of a crazy man and nobody thought he'd get anywhere near a position of real power until the countries of the region started going over the line and the economic crisis caused the people to seek any way to get out of it and live in proper conditions again.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:29:34 UTC from web-
@nerthos i don't forget the cicumstances but circumstance does not excuse action. Marines were hit by an IED and systematically killed 23 (i think) Iraqi citizens. They wouldn't have done it if their friends hadn't been killed but that doesn't excuse what they did. It's effectively the same thing on a much smaller scale.

@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual You can't really expect a country, even less so one that not long ago was an empire, to just bow down and keep scrapping for food while French soldiers/cops beat them up for stupid crap when they see a way out of it.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:37:15 UTC from web-
@nerthos you're right but that STILL doesn't excuse genocide. There is no excuse for the cold blooded murder of millions.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:38:13 UTC from web-
@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual A question. Would you have Germany of today pay for these crimes?
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:39:26 UTC from web-
@awlditzy no.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:42:22 UTC from web-
@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual So you can agree there is a line when those punishments for such atrocities is enough.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:43:14 UTC from web-
@awlditzy only those who took part in this crime against human being deserved to be punished for it. But they deserve the harshest punishment imaginable.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:45:23 UTC from web-
@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual Yes they do, and a good deal of them did. If the US and the USSR didn't do enough, Israel took up a good part of the slack. It's unfortunate, however, that the tool that was the German nation had to be trodden down for decades because of it.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:46:47 UTC from web-
@awlditzy I agree that it was good most people were served justice for the time but I think the punishment to the nation was deserved. Then again most of the punishment came from splitting the nation in half.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:52:07 UTC from web-
@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual Maybe not for 50 years. Of course by then it was just kind of there, no one really cared about the reason.

@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual It was a political move. A very effective political move. Nothing gets a whole population moving like crafting a demonized enemy to fight against while at the same time boosting the egos of that population. Individuals are smart, masses are idiotic.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:40:47 UTC from web-
@nerthos Said masses played into the whims of a madman who wanted to do genuine evil, I think this is the actual qualm. Happens much too often.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:42:00 UTC from web-
@awlditzy The thing is, and it is also the reason it happened, Hitler didn't want to "do evil", he genuinely believed that what he was doing was right. His speeches got the attention and support of masses of people because what he said he actually believed. He was mad, yes, but people react more to emotion than to logic. If you show an emotion strongly enough it'll be passed on to everyone watching.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:45:25 UTC from web-
@nerthos The road to Hell is paved with good intentions. Evil people don't think they're doing evil.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:48:38 UTC from web-
@awlditzy Whilst bad can and is often done with good intentions, it's necessary to differentiate between genuine evil, which is what a sadist or rapist does, from well-intentioned damage, which is what misguided true idealists do.

@nerthos agreed. Not all nazis chose to be nazis. We should worry more about the people who choose the parties we have stateside
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:27:05 UTC from web-
@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline All Nazi's were Nazi's though. And the partys state side don't want to commit mass genocide.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:28:16 UTC from web-
@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual If you give them free reign you can be damn sure some of them will propose genocide sooner than later.

Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:31:40 UTC from web -
@nerthos i wouldn't be suprised. In fact I've heard people suggest we just leave the poor to themselves would effectively genocide.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:35:42 UTC from web-
@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual It all boils down to "if unregulated any country is as bad as the next one"
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:38:40 UTC from web-
@nerthos we haven't done it yet. Until we actually commit genocide we're not as bad as those who have. That's like saying we're all just as bad as wife killers just because we have the potential.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:42:12 UTC from web-
@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual To be fair, USA has done it indirectly. Before the '80s for example, during the communist witchhunt, USA used political leverage and supplied weapons and money to put in power lots of dictators in eastern europe, asia and south america. They only mostly stopped when one of their "puppet" dictatorships attacked one of USA's main allies (Argentina vs the UK) The only difference then is that nazi Germany did it themselves while USA did it through pawns.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:49:32 UTC from web-
@nerthos in my opinion that difference is key. Back to my former example of the Marines is it America's fault that individuals chose to massacre a town because they gave them the guns and training? I'd argue no.
Saturday, 25-Jan-14 13:55:30 UTC from web-
@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual USA was completely aware of what happened at the time and did their best to convince those dictators of killing people for being "communists". In my opinion is exactly the same thing, and pretty much all world powers are in bigger or smaller numbers guilty of genocide.

@mylittlesistercantbethisincestual while all nazis were nazis, most nazis were people who were forced to be nazis in order to have a job, and a roof over their or their family's head(s). Here it's like "I CHOOSE to oppose gender equality" or "I CHOOSE to use media scare tactics to support my party's agenda." Some nazis totally wanted to do what they did, but a lot of them had no choice. Whereas no one has forced our government's hands since the beginning, and we've committed several atrocities to others and our own.

@prettypurpleprincesspublicprincesstimeline Most people seem to have forgotten the concentration camps USA set up in WWII where they rounded up and forced anyone of japanese ancestry to work.
