  1. Found someone on Tumblr who draws 10x better than I can and then they turned out to be 3 years younger than me :(

    1. @scoot Some people are just absolute BEASTS when it comes to that stuff. "I’ve seen people who’ve never drawn anything in their life, like my mother, draw amazing things just because the capacity to do so is in their soul or DNA or wherever that ability comes from."

      1. @xx420mattc365xx @scoot it's because they believe in the heart of the cards.

      2. @xx420mattc365xx It upsets me because I want to think I'm only going to get better with time, but then they already surpassed me several years faster than me, at this rate I'll NEVER be as good as them if I improve at the same rate I have been.

        1. @scoot Don't try to be as good as anyone else. Try to be as good as YOU can be.

          1. @xx420mattc365xx I don't try to be better than anyone else, the problem is that there's people who will always be better than me, so at the height of my potential I will still only be "good but not great".

            1. @scoot Dude, you're an amazing artist. Stop worrying about all those other dudes. If we spend all our time worrying about people being better than us, we won't enjoy doing what we want to be good at. I wouldn't still be animating if every time I saw a cartoon by Harry Partridge I thought "Man, I will NEVER be as good as this guy."

              1. @xx420mattc365xx Amazing is pushing it way too far. Today I spent 2 hours trying to draw my own character, failed miserably and had to abandon doing any work all day.
