    1. @awl Useless murdocking skill. American schools agonize over it in like second grade and then we never use it again.

      1. @mrmattimation I used to write everything in cursive. I stopped at some point in 8th or 9th grade because I got sick of anyone I worked on a project with going "I can't read cursive, can you rewrite this in print?"

        1. @redenchilada My teacher actively complained about students not writing essays in print, so I stopped as well.

    3. @awl I used to thought cursive was another language, just because it's look so different. Then later, when they presented microsoft word, and I learn what font means. That moment made me slack-jawed and repeatedly Ohhhh-ing for the sudden realization.

      1. @beatstrings i had the pleasure of being taught it in school here. However the memory whilst the pen is pressing down fails me in certain letters.

        1. @awl Oh, who doesn't during schooldays? I fail writing words that start with the letter "J" because I always write it backwards, similar letters and numbers as well.

          1. @beatstrings my problem with english. Ursive is that cyrillic cursive uses similar marks for different letters and/or sounds.

            1. @awl I see, that is quite a confusion. Frustrating even.

    4. @vt3c Cursive, for me, is something more akin to DRAWING than writing...I have to really slow down and take my time.

      1. @clayinthecarpet We have the same perspective. NEVER rush a good mark of your presence.

    6. @vt3c Well, thanks for that tidbit of information. But I really hope I'll motivate myself to learn lots of literature, not just language and writing, but their stories too.
