Apparently that one scene in "Homer Vs. Dignity" where Homer is implicitly raped by a panda is a really big deal?? Because panda rape is a very serious issue??

@mrmattimation As the first US animated sitcom I think it sort of took the brunt of criticism from people who thought cartoons should all be child friendly. It was the first cartoon broadcast in the US to cross a lot of that sort of boundary.
-
@pony at least it was the first popular animated sitcom. I don't care to research.
-
@pony That would be The Flintstones.
-
@colfax aw true. I feel like Flintstones probably wasn't popular among adults when it came out though. It did push the envelope however being the first series ever to show a couple sleeping in the same bed.
-
@pony First to air during prime time too.
-
@colfax I didn't know that.
-
@pony I am a fount of useless information.
-
@colfax Always a treat. :)
-
@pony But you'd think 12 years into their run they'd sort of have established their role already of "not the Jetsons".
-
@mrmattimation They paved the way for Family Guy I suppose. South Park is a beast all its own.
