@mrmattimation You know how to restart it right ?

@critialcloudkicker If Windows 8 detects that the taskbar isn't working it restarts explorer.exe automatically.

@critialcloudkicker how the hell is that a nasty feature that's literally the most helpful feature i've ever seen come out of an operating system ever

@mrmattimation If they solved all the issues from Win 8 RTM. Then yes. But still then, any and all issues where you'd lose data is HELL if it is on any form of automatic management

@critialcloudkicker I'm on Windows 8.1.1. It's perfectly stable and with the help of Classic Start Menu it's just like 7. I literally don't see why people are always complaining about it. Must be because people like complaining.

@mrmattimation You've had to modify it to make it functional, that's enough reason to complain.

@scoot It's perfectly functional without Classic Start Menu though. I got that program because I'm more used to the way Win7 did things, it's not a functionality thing, it's a preference thing.

@mrmattimation But the tile system is terrible, its a horrible UI and it makes previously easy to locate things much harder to find, plus accessing any useful tools like control panel involves gently carressing the side of the screen with the mouse and even then the control panel isn't as useful as it used to be. I needed to delete a network from my GFs laptop and that function is just gone. It's a BAD OS and you're the only person who thinks we're complaining for no reason.

@scoot Well, for starters, the start menu is already in Win8 without Classic Start Menu, you just need to rightclick the windows logo... http://rainbowdash.net/url/766713

@mrmattimation That a joke right? That isn't the start menu.
Wednesday, 02-Jul-14 15:21:50 UTC from web-
@scoot It provides most of the functionality.

@mrmattimation Open an application with that menu.

@scoot I agree and applaud your ability to say ( pretty much all ) what I did in less than half the words used :)

@mrmattimation My issue with it was that Windows 8 RTM rubbed me wrong, very wrong. First off, why would I even want to learn an OS that quite honestly flopped ? Next thing you know Microsoft is announcing Windows 9 http://pny.lv/371r , another reason to hold back on Windows 8 from my perspective. Now should you ask what Windows 8 did wrong, here's a couple of things. It has a split personality, trying to cater to both traditional mouse/keyboard users and touch-input users. The UI just feels like it was a step backwards to incorporate both methods and a "new" feature such as syncing wallapers. Hot Corners irk me a WHOLE lot. Another thing is really just "because everyone is doing it", and I am talking about product integration. Google and Apple have a giant leg up on what Microsoft is offering currently and for some reason it is ( deliberately ? ) hard to just say "nah, I think I will use google stuff instead" without saying "stupid paperclip, go away"

@mrmattimation it's a really helpful feature and the os is fine. It's just different and even though people complain that they don't want more of the same for everything they again complain when somethings different. I.E. iOS, any vidya series ever, Windows OS etc.
