   My TV has a VGA port but VGA cables can't carry HD resolutions, can they?

     @mrmattimation Though your options may be limited depending on the TV or device or some other factor. On my cheapo the highest I could go through VGA without the picture showing flat wrong was 1280x768 whereas HDMI gladly supported 1600x900 and 1080p. So test it out first or something.
