      1. @critialcloudkicker because it's boring

          1. @critialcloudkicker that list calls Museums boring, it is invalid

Sunday, 05-Oct-14 21:32:05 UTC from web
            1. @rarity Hmm, I can get behind museums being boring. If they are having or are made around an exhibit you could care less about. Also this list is saying something about "admission" in context with museums, I guess that means you have to buy a ticket or something, and that sounds nasty

              1. @critialcloudkicker How dare they charge people a small entry fee so they can stay in business! Those museums are pure evil!

                1. @northernnarwhal You gotta remember that most people on the internet think that the concept of paying for things is absurd.

                  1. @mrmattimation Yeah, I have a hilarious mental fantasy of a bunch of people dying because they couldn't find a food torrent.

                        1. @northernnarwhal Housing should be free. Property is theft.

                          1. @vcgriffin Money is an invention of capitalist pigs, everyone should do everything for me for free

                            1. @northernnarwhal That's not how socalim works either. But in essence money is controlled by those who already have it, and rationed out to the deserving masses who do useful hard work.

Sunday, 05-Oct-14 22:10:55 UTC from web
                              1. @vcgriffin Oh, I know that. I was just doing the whole "angry communist mocks America/Western Society" joke and being very facetious about it. Money, as well as economies, exist really as a means to keep the construct of society well oiled by creating a necessity for work.

Sunday, 05-Oct-14 22:14:10 UTC from web
                                1. @northernnarwhal Wait, you don't actually believe that money should be abolished and everything ever should be free? Uh... y-yeah. Me neither. Ha ha. Funny jokes.

                                  1. @mrmattimation Matt, our peers have reason to believe you might be a Commie. This isn't true, is it?

                                      1. @mrmattimation Don't mind me, I'm just gonna leave this stereo on playing the Russian national anthem then /go to the bathroom/ totally inconspicuously.

              2. @critialcloudkicker I feel like there is no museum I wouldn't go to, they are oen of the best ways to learn for the layman. Maybe I'm alone in this but I always like learning

Sunday, 05-Oct-14 21:37:54 UTC from web
                1. @rarity I just painted a picture in my mind, a picture of "museum versus library", and although you might be right ( see the end of my monologue ) I do not think that museums can win, ever, unless if you know absolutely nothing on the subject, yes NeMo ( science museum https://www.e-nemo.nl/en/ ) would be awesome for the layman. However traditional museums, where there are merely paintings and sculptures of a great artist are really boring. In fact, I would prefer a book on pretty much anything over a museum because I know a lot, not everything mind you, hence why I might visit a sex-museum one time or another. But I am still afraid that I get to see mostly clay figurines, hence defeating a good book IMHO.

                    1. @rarity I'd rather play around with some beakers and test tubes.

                      1. @critialcloudkicker they have museums for that

                        1. @rarity I know, I linked a URL of one not 5 minutes ago, now that museum is awesome. pure artsy-fartsy display "no speaking, silence !, no photography !" museums are boring to me like you would not believe though

                            1. @rarity So, yea. I guess in my opinion "do and act" museums are cool. but "silence and look at this masterpiece !" are sub-par to books.

              3. @critialcloudkicker I would think most adults have a choice in what museum they go to and which exhibits in them, that they visit.

                1. @awlditzy If your point was "If your parrents take you to place X when you were a child, and you had no say in the matter, because they claimed it was good for you. there is a big chance you dislike place X as a grown-up". Yea I can see that

                  1. @critialcloudkicker Pretty much. Funny how things "to build character" can make one bitter.

            2. @rarity Museums are boring to me because I live near DC, so whenever family comes into town they're like "LET'S VISIT THE NATIONAL MALL" and I'm like "NO I'VE BEEN THERE FORTY TIMES"
