actually it's about ethics in video game journalism
Saturday, 01-Nov-14 14:24:14 UTC from web- orungano repeated this.
-
@rarity I never said it was not. when I say " integrity of broad spectrum game journalism" I mean "The what is, and what is not, permitted, frowned upon, and generally misleading conduct". Which is the part I do care about. ( and as I understand my English, is what ethics mean, to a point ) However Mysoginy has turned it into a way bigger and wilder beast about why Master Chief is not a girl.
-
@critialcloudkicker bahaha do you really think it's about that?
-
@rarity Nope. As I said previously, it is the part I care about.
-
@critialcloudkicker it started out with women saying "hey maybe if women had more representation in games, it would be considered a legitimate art form in popular culture" and gamers promptly responded by weeing themselves and doxxing all women journalists
-
@rarity *is in the middle of some research on gamergate right now* ... Actually Quinn, Sarkeesian, and Wu have been doxxed prior to the whole "woman in games culture war" which Sarkeesian ignited somewhat later as a "We would not have this problem if there were more female antagonists in video games" approach.
-
@critialcloudkicker if you think Sarkeesian's point is simply" we would not have this problem if there were more female protagonists in video games" you need to do a lot more research buddy
-
@rarity Once again, I never said that. I did say that it ignited because Sarkeesian brought it up again in context together with the whole Quinn thing. After that it violently exploded
-
@critialcloudkicker it only exploded because of sexist gamers who screech at the thought of not being able to murder strippers
-
@rarity Lol GTA..
-
@rarity You know how actual science works right ? If you have a baloon filled with pure oxygen it is highly flammable, but untill you actually ignite it, it won't cause any damage. Pretty sure at this point that the balloon = the internet. Oxygen = "a mixture of mysoginy, misandry, and the thought of game journalism being manipulated with sex" and the igniting factor being "5 guys, 5 fries" and "Sarkeesian's blame-game"

@critialcloudkicker There is literally no misandry at all in this situation so you're not even worth talking to about this anymore because you're obviously just soooo wrong it's laughable... Have fun trying to justify your sexism as partially the fault of women
-
@rarity I was never trying to justify any of it ( which is your first mistake ) misandry means the hatred towards men or boys, which is clearly going on by a lot of the people on the internet, else some things that have been said would not have been said ( second mistake ) Taking the time to point this out to you ( my mistake ) for you probably do not care and rather blame me that I blame something when I obviously just want to figure out what the mangoes is going on.

@critialcloudkicker But misandry has nothing to do with gamergate, I'm not stupid, I know what it is, and it is absolutely irrelevant to this topic.
-
@rarity Gamer A says that Master Chief should be a woman. Gamer B says that Master Chief is fine how he is. Gamer A calls gamer B a mysoginist. Gamer A gets backed up by pro-feministic person C. Intents of person C. anyone ?
-
@critialcloudkicker That's... not what this is.
-
@critialcloudkicker no one is saying that Master Chief should be a woman, it's not about the damn protagonists god dammit how many times do I have to say that
-
@mrmattimation But it does happen. And it feuls the fire. So you can not exlude it as a propellant.
-
@critialcloudkicker Except... no? That's a separate issue?
-
@rarity It is a god darned example. Ever look on stupid sites to kill the time like FunnyJunk ? It has happned, and is going on
-
@critialcloudkicker but it's not what gamergate is about, that's not one of Sarkeesian's points, and it has nothing to do with a woman allegedly buying off reviewers. Talking about a subject when you are not knowledgeable just makes you out to be a fool.
-
@rarity I'd rather be the fool asking questions and looking dumb and/or uninformed than be another kind of fool who never asks questions and/or tells how he/she sees things
-
@critialcloudkicker you're not asking questions, you're stating things as fact when they're laughably not.
-
@rarity Should I start all of my future dashes with "I have come to understand that" "I think" "in my humble oppinion" or "I could be wrong, but..." ... ... Problem on your side is that you have not exactly convinced me that I am exactly wrong in any of these instances either.
-
@critialcloudkicker I see nothing wrong with prefacing opinions with "in my opinion" so yes
-
@rarity Well then, in my opinion I do not think that gamergate is worth researching because it appears that it is only the story about someone who thought she could manipulate for good reviews on her game got cought, a couple of sore losers thought it would be funny to attack her ( even Dox her ), which caused some other woman/women to step up and feul the fire of mysoginy versus misandry. And now everyone is running around like headless chickens screaming profianity and how they are right and everyone should listen to them. Everybody should just call the mangoes down. Ethics should be written for the game-journalism industry, woman should be treated fairly and equally here, everywhere, and around the globe. and there should be wold peace while I am at it. did I miss anything ?

@critialcloudkicker I'd LOVE to go on about the slander of Zoe Quinn's character and her alleged wrongdoings, but it's not worth my time with you
