  1. Hahaha... GTA V for the PC is pushed back to the end of March. I'm waiting for it for so long. The only good thing is that it won't interfere with my exams.

    1. @broniebrown Oh, good :) That means it will not interfere with my plans to cause mayhem and destruction upon the extra chin I developed thanks to the holidays :D

        1. @fabiojr Oh, I am actually thankfull that they do.

          1. @critialcloudkicker its good for me because I'm only 16, and don't play M rated games. that means the game will be more recent on my birthday yayyy

            1. @fabiojr That's like saying "well I don't hope I am going to find a turd in my bed" being fully well aware that you have to poop. Knowing fully well that there eventually be another turd. The ESRB rating is like, what, 21+ ? So if GTA4 was released in 2008 ( 7 years ago ) and they will release GTA6 in 2022... ... ... Oh wait, whatsthat, GTA5 has a 17+ ESRB rating ? ... Well then, scratch that :) Still, the things that both turds and milti milion markets have in common is that there will always be "the next big thing"

              1. @critialcloudkicker The ratings are letter based, but they're based around the ages 3, 7, 13, 17, and 18. AO games (18) are not carried by most stores, and eC (3) is mostly educational games.

                1. @mrmattimation Hmm, I wonder what educational games look like in the year 2025. They changed milestones compared to 2005 ( which in turn feels pretty stagnant compared to 1995 )

                  1. @critialcloudkicker eC games are virtually nonexistent so I wouldn't know.

                    1. @mrmattimation I do not nearly know enough bout eC games, I do however have some experience with educational games over the years.

                2. [pedant]

@mrmattimation The E rating is 6+, and E10 exists too

                  1. @redenchilada Well EXCUUUUUSE me, guy.

                  2. @redenchilada "CEETMARP" ... someone said it was an analogy for all the ratings they have... RP stands for "rating pending", which is not really a rating though I figure

                    1. @critialcloudkicker Rating Pending is only used in promotional material, it is never ever ever applied to a game at the time of sale.

                      1. @mrmattimation So it is like giving it a stamp that says "I really need to rate this at a later date, when I have the actual product in front of me"

Tuesday, 13-Jan-15 22:17:50 UTC from web
                        1. @critialcloudkicker I guess. I've seen ratings applied months in advance though so I think it has more to do with at what time the publisher submits material.

                    2. @critialcloudkicker Yup. Older games (mid-to-late 90s, when the ESRB had just come into existance) might also have a KA rating for kids to adults, which is the same thing as E.

                      1. @redenchilada I actually still have a few games downstairs with KA stickers on them.

                        1. @mrmattimation Yeah, it was used until around '98. (Going through the N64 games in the house, Banjo-Kazooie (98) is E and Diddy Kong Racing (97) is KA, so)

                      2. @redenchilada We actually have our own rating organism in the Netherlands, so on top of the ESRB thingie there is a Dutch logo, which is more detailed, but also quite less usefull for those people whom actually know your basic American lingo. Like those whom can laugh at the "A Democrat from Texas walks into a bar..." jokes
