sittin here with my NES, a screwdriver, and nothing to do if i take it apart.
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:48:25 UTC from web-
@techdisk42 Make it into a USB controller!
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:48:50 UTC from web-
@scribble but that would constitute not being able to play the NES anymore. not gonna happen. (and one of the screws is stripped on the controller anyway)
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:50:04 UTC from web-
@techdisk42 Aren't NES controllers worth peanuts nowadays, though?
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:50:58 UTC from web-
@scribble no, pickles.

@derpyshy NES controllers must be expensive, if you need a @thelastgherkin to get one.
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:53:32 UTC from web-
@scribble Good to kmow ^_^
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:54:58 UTC from web -
@scribble One of a kind, baby.
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:55:45 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin It better be a damn good controller, then.
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:00:02 UTC from web-
@scribble Who needs a controller when one has me?
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:02:33 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin Good point.

@scribble its worth alot to me right now because if i broke it, i dont have another one. though i could get another, i wouldnt be able to play until i did so. If i get ahold of 3 controllers, i will take one apart.

@techdisk42 Why would you even do that? D:
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:49:06 UTC from StatusNet iPhone-
@yodelerty @techdisk42 Rebuild it into a computer!
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:50:01 UTC from web-
@scribus I really wanna do this, but i would need an NES that i didnt care about breaking.
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:53:14 UTC from web-
@techdisk42 Yeah, I've considered it but same issue. Wonder how much a broken one goes for on eBay....
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:54:13 UTC from web-
@scribus i know i got my perfecty working one for 50 bucks, so a broken one probably alot less.
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:56:56 UTC from web-
@techdisk42 Hmm.... Maybe I'll put a Raspberry Pi or a Beagle Board into one (when I have money (and the space for more stuff)). :P
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 17:58:41 UTC from web-
@scribus hmm. this could be interesting. If i had one of those boards, i would find some way of putting it inside the NES without touching the original hardware. I could put my arduino in there, but that would be kinda useless.
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:00:26 UTC from web-
@techdisk42 Wow, without touching the original hardware... That would have some potential!
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:03:19 UTC from web-
@scribus yep! I like using old things for their original purpose.
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:04:32 UTC from web-
@techdisk42 me 2!!!! http://ur1.ca/9fppt
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:06:02 UTC from web-
@nlghtmaremoon now THAT is cool. and exactly what i would do.

@techdisk42 Especially when the original purpose is Nintendo!
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:06:47 UTC from web-
@scribus Or ponies! I just wish i had some way of making the NES pony without modding it...
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:07:26 UTC from web-
@techdisk42 Uhh... Take up 6502 assembly programming and roll your own MLP game cartridge?
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:08:45 UTC from web-
@scribus hmm. i would have to find a way of gettin around the 10NES chip...
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:09:33 UTC from web-
@techdisk42 I'm sure there's some way. I know companies made non-licensed games, and isn't there a homebrew community? I'm pretty sure some people do more than just ROMs.
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:11:48 UTC from web-
@scribus i hope there is.
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:12:30 UTC from web -
@scribus maybe there is a flashcart for NES, like there is for the GBA and ds?
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:15:29 UTC from web -
@scribus maybee... extensive modding on the rasperry to fit inside an NES cart, accept control from the NES controller, and have USB ports out the top of the "game"?
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:17:14 UTC from web-
@techdisk42 . . . Whoa.

@scribus You can't put a raspberry pi in anything. They're borderline useless

@ceruleanspark there awesome, and only $25

@nlghtmaremoon My desk. I've been experimenting with mine since I got it last week. It's a little frustrating how poorly documented it is
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:07:38 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark Open Source? Poorly Documented? I am shocked.
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:08:45 UTC from web -
@ceruleanspark its still super new... give it time. I want one... but the waiting lists are sooooo long...
Sunday, 03-Jun-12 18:10:07 UTC from web-
@nlghtmaremoon Yeah. I had to pull some backroom shenanigans to get slot higher on the list.

@ceruleanspark I've seen mixed reviews on it, I admit. I'd rather use a Beagle or Panda Board, but I'm still curious as to how well a $25 computer functions.

@yodelerty because i like takin things apart. In this case though, i do NOT want to repurpose it. It still works, and i would like to keep it that way.
