    Prior to the 1930s, the 45th Infantry Division of the US Army featured a Swastika. It was dropped after Hitler rose to power in Europe, for obvious reasons.

        @rednorth In the eastern world it still is a religious symbol, used by those practicing Hinduism and Buddhism. The specific insignia used by the US Army was in honor of the Native Americans living in the region that the division originated from.
