@bobo I will be frank.. It is a bit spastic. I see it is not the entirety of the song, but a small chassis, so I will refrain from more harsher Criticism. To me, it feels like the song has a conflict, like, it doesn't yet know what it wants to be and switches between them rapidly. But the beginning, I am seeing a solid ground work. Something tangible. It just falls apart for me later. But... It regains some ground in the ending.

@metaltao @northernnarwhal Before I read the rest of your write-ups, I would like to denote (PUN INTENDED) that the going-up-the-scale part was just me saying "AW, SCREW IT, LET'S JUST TRANSITION WITH AN EAR-PIERCING PLACEHOLDER" and I forgot to remove it. Sorry if that hurt your ears.

@bobo Ahh, no worries mate. That didn't bother me. I kind of realized that.

@bobo It kind of sounds off key, but maybe my pitch hearing is off. Anyway, assuming that's the chord progression you've settled into, I'd just say have more fun with your melody composition. It sort of just sounds like you're haphazardly moving up a scale and that's not really fun to listen to. Move up and down, take advantage of your roots, arpeggiate a bit. Really just mess around with the notes in your chords until you find something that sticks, then build on top of that. As for rhythm, the best tip I can possibly give is that simple is best. Just tap out your common meter and from there accent your drums with your melody. From there, you can start to experiment more, but remember that you don't have to accent everything, otherwise they're hardly accents. Let the drums keep time and fill every now and then, then drive the song with the melody.
