      @mrmattimation The DVD only holds a minimal portion of the game's data. The rest they have to download and wait for a day one patch to play.

        @skellythos I wonder how the console versions handle it, then, because Xbox and PS4 games are put on Blu-Ray discs so they could totally fit the whole game on there.

          @mrmattimation They'll likely have the whole thing in the disc, or at least all the game data except a few MB you'll download as "authentification" basically.

              @mrmattimation They're preloading it. It's something companies do so 1) people don't get mad about buying a game and not being able to play as soon as it releases an 2) so that a game that sells a million or two copies isn't downloaded that many times simultaneously and completely crashes the servers. You can't play until the release of the last few MB of data on launh day.
