  1. Matt's right though, the Gamecube discs were an awful medium for data storage

    1. @northernnarwhal Honestly, Nintendo's storage mediums have been behind since the N64.

      1. @mrmattimation Thankfully their software (usually) makes up for their hardware. I actually think Nintendo would be better off as a third party company that just develops new titles.

        1. @northernnarwhal without their hardware sales they wouldn't have the money to make the games they do

          1. @rarity Wii U's sold pretty bad though. And the 3DS only really started doing well once the Pokemon games for them came out. Their games will always have a promising market they can bank on.

        2. @northernnarwhal They should! Oh my god! I mean, they are great at making games!

          1. @metaltao With that being said though, a game liek Splatoon wouldn't exist without the Wii U's specific hardware, so there's a give and take here.

            1. @northernnarwhal True. True.
They could focus onmaking some more games again... mean, if tehy ever go down in the dip (Which they are) They could focus on making more games with their unused IPs.

        3. @northernnarwhal I've been saying for years that I want Nintendo to be like Sega and just go third party.

          1. @mrmattimation It would rad to play a new Zelda game on a PS4

        4. @northernnarwhal Their hardware is always behind in power, but ahead in weird features. It's like instead of trying to race on the road with a sports car they try to reach the finish line first by taking an alternate road on a 4x4

          1. @skellythos That's a good way of putting it, Nintendo have kind of always just stuck to their own thing and have built a dedicated market around that.

            1. @northernnarwhal It's the only reason I bought a Wii back in the day. Haven't bought any other consoles while they were still "alive" so to speak. It's kind of pointless to buy a console based on power when you an have a PC, so I'm only drawn to them when they can offer unique features that make playing on them different from the rest.

              1. @skellythos I always thought buying consoles based on their power was stupid because devs don't USE that power... or if they do, it's because one is harder to developer for than the other.

              2. @skellythos I've always just bought the consoles with the most games I want to play on them
