So anyway, like I was saying, Infinity Ward and Treyarch are two of the lousiest game developers out there

@mrmattimation I don't understand how, what they make is good in quality. They patch their games, they code them well, balance everything finely (Until BOIII Beta that is..) And have led to an economic powerhouse because of what they do. CoD would not be powerful without them.

@metaltao "CoD would not be powerful without them" So anyway, like I was saying, Infinity Ward and Treyarch are two of the lousiest game developers out there.

@mrmattimation Are you calling them lousy because you are generalizing your hatred for a game series (And not individually) towards all those who make them despite what economic or Legal conditions they may be in for making such games?
Regardless of what you think of the game, it would not be popular if it was not good or entertaining or even programmed well. They are responsible for a series that have been around for a long time and that nearly everyone has heard of. Call of Duty is bad as a series, each game tho seems to stand as average or above average.
They are not lousy or lazy or even incompetent.Wednesday, 18-Nov-15 01:33:48 UTC from web-
@metaltao They are all three of those things you just said.

@mrmattimation How?
Wednesday, 18-Nov-15 01:35:17 UTC from web-
@metaltao They re-release the same game annually, place a $60 price tag on it, and call it a day. If that's not lazy, lousy, and incompetent I don't know what is.

@mrmattimation The consumers are just as much if not more to blame though. No one forces them to buy it, yet they do, and thus the devs keep doing it. It's the same with Bethesda game. If people wouldn't buy them when they're half done, the company would be forced to finish them.

@mrmattimation They remake the game each time. That is not an easy task.
They have a huge team, all coordinated incredibly well it seems. What they do is notlazy. http://pny.lv/z9ju
Tho, the practices of Activision are bad here. It seems if someone tries to Leave either Infinity Ward or Treyarch and start a new company, they are accused.Wednesday, 18-Nov-15 01:50:21 UTC from web-
@metaltao Why are you trying so hard to defend these companies? You've stated that you hate Call of Duty. And it's not just this. It's as if you try your very hardest to disagree with absolutely everything I say if it's not an absolute positive on a given subject.

@mrmattimation I I should reiterate I may hate the games, but other people don't, all my friends love them and enjoy playing with them on a social level. They are not intrinsically a "gamer" yet these games are some what of a jumping off point for many at which they delve into other games media. Everyone talks about, its quality is assured, it is focused on multiplayer, and releases often. The quality of these games for which they introduce many games to the FPS or even games in general is some what invaluable as what I have seen. From Childhood friends to even a few adults, they always seem to have played it at one point when they thoughts games were just a juvenile medium.

@metaltao Crack is popular, your point is invalid. Many in this site would also say "trump is popular" even though I won't as it's a foreign issue to me.

@skellythos It is not invalid. Crack is a legitmate and proven detriment to health. CoD is a game that does not by itself spawn copies but because of an amalgamation of popularity, economics, and fame does it have others end up making similar games (Which has been happening less and less often over the years as they fail). It is not the fault of CoD for doing it. It's repetition is not inherently bad but it is nauseating.
Treyarch or even IW are not bad at what they do.
The problem at stake is whether they are lousy. Not detrimental.Wednesday, 18-Nov-15 01:38:44 UTC from web-
@metaltao What I'm saying is that being popular doesn't make something good.
Wednesday, 18-Nov-15 01:39:32 UTC from web-
@skellythos I would agree, but it does not make them lazy o bad as developers. The games are made well.
That was what I was reacting to here. Lousy means lazy, bad, or under quality or even Sleazy.
Very poor or bad; disgustingWednesday, 18-Nov-15 01:41:17 UTC from web-
@metaltao That's Matt's argument, not mine. I only said that CoD harms the gaming industry, not that they're technically bad.
Wednesday, 18-Nov-15 01:42:10 UTC from web-
@skellythos Hrm... My apologies. I would still argue the fault of it not being CoD as that is insanely simple. Bad and similar practices have been happening for so long now. Even the Cloning problem.
What nearly killed the gaming industry was not because of something like CoD where it held all the power and sapped it, but because there were so many CoD all of which were of poor Quality and of the same thing. E.T. is a strong testament to this.
Which is probably why I am experiencing Cognitive Dissonance... I think you are right. You have convinced me.Wednesday, 18-Nov-15 01:45:36 UTC from web
