Fallout 4, on the other hand, left me satisfied. Very satisfied. It told a cohesive narrative of a man from the pre-apocalypse journeying into the unknown future to find the one thing that mattered most to him. My Fallout 4 character — appropriately named Matthew — emerged from the Vault. He rebuilt his home town. He rebuilt a whole faction. He avenged his wife. He found love once more. He fought for the freedom of an oppressed race, and he burnt all that stood in his way, learning that war... War never changes. And at the end of it all, I was satisfied. The choices I made carried weight. The characters - my character - changed as time went on. I literally found myself, in real life, questioning my own morals. That's what I want a game to do.
