            @noelnarwhal it was something along the lines of 'women are and always have been deemed inferior for a long time' which apparently needs some sort of flare like an exclamation point

              @merrytiffmas I guess she construed that as your opinion as opposed to cultural commentary. Text is sort of strange like that. I guess maybe you should've made it more explicitly apparent that you writing that is you acknowledging it's a problem and not you openly accepting it? It's an unfortunate misunderstanding anyway.

                      @merrytiffmas I personally think age and progressiveness are two completely separate, non-exclusive things. Andrew's grandmother, who is a hundred million years old, is more liberal than HE is, which is saying a lot because he's more liberal than I am, and on the other hand I've met some very bigoted 16 year olds.

                        @mrmattimation I agree with you, but even though I'm well aware demographic doesn't equate to political views, it's hard to get rid of those preconceptions about people. It's a chain of bigotry really

                        @mrmattimation I think Tiff is more so referring to the fact that lots of people from prior generations possess a greater capacity to be more subconsciously bigoted in little ways thanks to more internalized bigotry from their time as well as then cultural-standard microaggressions they've picked up over the years.
