Over here the cops would laugh until they sides hurt if they were called to go to someone's house because that person made a youtube video that broke copyright laws

@nerthos They'd laugh most places. Cops don't handle copyright law, that stuff is mostly just lawyers yelling at a judge who then summons you to court so he can yell at you. If it's bad enough the FBI yells at you but at the end of the day it's just people yelling at you and then fining you.

@mrmattimation Over here you have to do a multi million piracy thing for anyone to even /care/ and it's usually foreign lawyers that complain, like with Taringa.

@nerthos A lot of the time the full legal process doesn't actually go through, the threat of legal action is typically more than enough. Neither party usually wants to spend that much money on lawyers.

@mrmattimation That's the difference, here you could be yelled at online for a year and you wouldn't take it seriously. They need to take it to court to be even acknowledged.
