I'm also still unsure if I want to focus only on new-ish games (meaning from the last five years) or if I should do episodes focusing on older games as well. Breaking Sequence isn't just gonna be me Potato Knishesting on games for the length of the video, the primary goal of the series, should I decide to make it INTO a full series (again, we'll see how that goes after Life is Strange and Tomb Raider) will be to deconstruct video games and talk about how anything about them that was poorly done (in my opinion) could be done better. For example, the Life is Strange episode has me talking about how the somewhat morality-based choice system could have been much better done. (Spoilers: my way involves taking control away from the player during the final decision so as to ensure the choices you made throughout the game actually meant something)

@mrmattimation if you wanna talk about interesting game mechanics you should check out Heretic Kingdoms: The Inquisition
it has an interesting way that the character improves and scales though out the game, there are 3 diferent types of EXP-like resources (exp, Essence and Attunement points) and you have to use dfferent kinds of weapon/armor combinations to increase the ammount of skills you have
(example: a 2h-sword with fire element that has to be changed to Earth and cannot be used with ANY armor)
it's also a great example of how you can make your final bosses RIDICULOUSLY under-powered with the right combo of skill
And it's sequel is also a great example of HOW TO cherry UP A GAME BY REMOVING EVERY UNIQUE THING IT HAD AND MAKING IT A DIABLO CLONESunday, 11-Sep-16 04:08:43 UTC from web
