@mushi Practice makes perfect. I mainly just use Blender as a video editor, but I'm trying to get into the 3D modeling too.
-
@dolus i'm not into video editing, but i thought it would be nice to learn how to model stuff
-
@phinalphantasyztar @mushi But once you do learn the UI, you'll love how flexible and customizable it is.
-
@dolus by the way, woudl you consider yourself good at modeling? i'm trying to find someone to help me fixing the tree without spaming the facebook groups
-
@mushi Like I said, I mainly use it because it's the only decent foss video editor. I'm just getting into the 3D modeling stiff myself https://gs.smuglo.li/attachment/296940

@kfist @mushi You're right. It's Potato Knishesing awsome once you learn how to use it. https://gs.smuglo.li/attachment/296939

@dolus Is it really that good for editing? I always export my 3D effects as a video file and then chroma key it with other stuff in Premiere.

@mrmattimation The only real drawback to Blender's VSE is that it you'll want to encode your video files to have a uniform frame-rate with something like FFMPEG or Hanbrake. You can deal with this issue with the speed control strip, but just transcoding everything beforehand is much easier. Otherwise, it's a very good NLE.
