@scribble @omni @anarchycarcino @bitshift You turn to page 2 and realise you have been playing as a pickled cucumber and that you don't eat.

@thelastgherkin MAke me quattro formaggio penne.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:24:41 UTC from web-

@thelastgherkin I flip through the pages until I find an actual ending, and then pretend I got there legitimately.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:25:05 UTC from web-
@bitshift GAME OVER
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:27:22 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin Dang. (But yeah, that's basically how I "played" those old Goosebumps' "Reader Beware: You Choose The Scare" books - find an ending I like, then find which page could've sent me there, and repeat until I had the whole path mapped out, which I would then read the actual story text of in the right order. I was a strange child.)
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:31:15 UTC from web-
@bitshift I kicked dole at those.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:31:53 UTC from web-
@anarchycarcino They were seriously the best. I have particularly fond memories of "The Deadly Experiments of Dr. Eeek". I may even still have the book somewhere around here. :3
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:33:17 UTC from web-
@bitshift I forgot which ones I read a lot...

@bitshift I had the Mario CYOA books. I kept track of which part of the book I'd leapt from and I'd go back a step if I didn't like where I was going.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:32:49 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin Same here, except I had a Sonic CYOA book because I don't know why. So, so many egg puns. Glorious, glorious egg puns.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:34:12 UTC from web-
@bitshift >Sonic CYOA book WHY HAVE I NEVER HEARD OF THIS
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:34:58 UTC from web-
@redenchilada If I a) find it again, and b) ever come to Texas, I will seriously bring you that book. You need to read it.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:36:29 UTC from web -
@redenchilada Okay, well, I haven't even started searching for my actual physical book yet, but I _did_ remember the title, so I can now provide you with an informative(?) link about it: http://sonic.wikia.com/wiki/Metal_City_Mayhem
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:39:23 UTC from web-
@bitshift http://sonic.wikia.com/wiki/Sonic_v._Zonik ORIGINALITY BACK 18 YEARS AGO
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:40:25 UTC from web -
@bitshift "Sonic gets distracted by a tough Game Gear game, and while he's not looking, all of his friends are kidnapped. This really frustrates him because he needs to consult with one of his friends on how to beat the game's final boss." I have high hopes already.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:40:38 UTC from web-
@redenchilada It is legitimately amazing in both ironic and non-ironic ways.

Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:35:43 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin aaaaaaand a small part of me just died. That was eggseptionally bad.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:37:17 UTC from web-
@mibthebrony Oooh, are we doing egg puns? Let's get cracking!
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:38:10 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin I'd love to continue, but I don't actually have any more egg puns xD
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:38:53 UTC from web-
@mibthebrony You must be yolking.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:40:04 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin Please stop. They're killing me.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:43:28 UTC from web-
@mibthebrony I'm trying to think of some more, but my brain's a big scrambled.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:44:21 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin How do you know all of these egg puns? I bet it's sorcery. It is, isn't it?
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:46:36 UTC from web-
@mibthebrony I eggstract my puns from the knowledge of the finest eggheads.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:47:37 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin Ahahaahahah

@thelastgherkin You probably can't see it through the internet, but I am giving you such an angry glair right now for those terrible puns.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:49:37 UTC from web-
@bitshift Is 'glair' a pun or misspelling?
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:53:30 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin The former.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:55:16 UTC from web-
@bitshift Don't tell me, it'll come to me.

@thelastgherkin At first, I was impressed by the amount of egg puns you had LAID out, but now I'm scared.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:50:15 UTC from web-
@mibthebrony What's the matter? Chicken?
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:53:11 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin Okay, you've had your fun and we've had our torture. Please stop.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:59:48 UTC from web-
@mibthebrony I'm clearly the winner of this pun battle. You just have egg on your face.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 12:01:02 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin Omelette you have this win. But be prepared for the next that you will undoubtedly win.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 12:02:52 UTC from web-
@mibthebrony In future I have to work "I'm real happy for you and omelette you finish" into something.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 12:15:32 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin I don't know whether to be happy I salvaged some dignity with that, or terrified for when the time to use that pun finally comes.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 12:20:58 UTC from web-
@mibthebrony Be both.

@thelastgherkin You shell not be so confident of your victory when you finally get my (earlier - not the one in this dash) pun.

@bitshift Oh, bully! One dictionary entry later and GNRAH
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 12:12:11 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin Mwahaha.

@thelastgherkin I used to do the exact same thing. Funnily enough, though, the first time I read through both of the FiM CYOA fanfics I've heard of, I got pretty much the best endings with no effort whatsoever.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:34:34 UTC from web-
@redenchilada That's because you're the best there is at what you do.
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:35:59 UTC from web -
@redenchilada To be fair, though, the FiM CYOAfics are a lot easier than the actual CYOAs of old. Purrloined Pony had probably 75% good endings, and the average CYOA is mostly horrible deaths, fates worse than such, and other things.

@thelastgherkin I'm now a ham and bread covered pickle. :c
Wednesday, 29-Aug-12 11:27:48 UTC from web-
@scribble We must all face difficult trials in our lives, my son. Being a ham and breaded pickle is one of them.
