@thelastgherkin If you'll kindly observe the conversation I'm having with Tycho perhaps you'll notice the main reason. Sharing art and talking about artists is made much easier when there's a good sample available to look at. Also, these are pics I specifically, not carelessly, select because I feel they hold value for the individuals with whom I share them, hence the careful tagging. I could go on if you like.

@thelastgherkin Usually nopony bites when I share stuff, I admit. I also don't normally ask others what they think since I figure it's implied by the fact I'm posting the links. I might change that. Sometimes the direct approach works better. If it's not clear to you then maybe I'm coming across as spamming/cataloging to others (who haven't asked to be listed in my subscription tags as many have) as well. Maybe I could avoid that if I included a simple, "How does this artist strike you?" in the dash.. I am worried about spamming in any case. Maybe that helps you feel less like I'm going to excess or maybe not. I don't know. Also, so far you're the only one who's brought up the issue so far.

@pony I personally think it's a non-issue. It's activity, provokes discussion about the pictures and all-around helps to keep the site out of the "nobody is posting anything" parts.

@pony The reason no-one bites is that it's a terribly inefficient way of sharing pictures. On some systems thumbnails don't even render; the longer a post is, the less likely people will pay attention to it; more than fifty percent of the previous one was made up of tags. The recent ones you seem to be doing are lot more acceptable I think. If you're trying to big up a particular artist, instead of posting ten images and a goshawful quantity of tags, post maybe one to three images and then a link to where the reader may find more. The same with the ATG. Or as Red suggested, get a tumblr, make image posts there, and provide a link on here as well as a short description of what is in that particular suggestion. Devianart's fave/collection feature also allows you to essentially categorise images booru-style, so you could say things like "My Rainbow Dash collection is updated! (link)". Or do what you're doing now and call attention to a few at a time.

@thelastgherkin I'm glad that smaller posts (fewer pics) are more acceptable. I'd hoped at first that grouping many pics into single posts would actually keep ponies' timelines from being overwhelmed by numerous separate posts, but you're right about it being inefficient or overwhelming. Discussion doesn't happen as much due to that unfortunately, but it also doesn't happen sometimes at all, no matter how I post the pics. I haven't noticed a big difference between 1-3 pic posts and longer posts but there is a difference nonetheless that might be worth the risk of cluttering timelines. Thanks for recalling those other options as well. I'll consider them again, though I don't use dA and I still question whether it would really be so convenient to dedicate a tumblr to this sort of thing. There's a lot to consider. Whether or not I post the links here, I understand your concern and i'll do what I can, even if it's just linking 1-3 pics per dash since that seems to be alright.
