    1. @unhipdruid *quietly puts a GNU/Linux disc on your desk* Good luck with that.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:25:10 UTC from MuSTArDroid
      1. @omni a Linux install disk is worse than finding coal in your stocking

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:25:39 UTC from MuSTArDroid
        1. @renovatedkitchen I'd rather have a Linux install disc than a Windows or Mac one.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:26:22 UTC from MuSTArDroid
          1. @omni I bet they make very cozy fires xD

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:26:44 UTC from MuSTArDroid
            1. @renovatedkitchen How dare you burn a penguin!

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:27:52 UTC from MuSTArDroid
              1. @omni hehehe. Burn penguin, BURN!!

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:28:29 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                1. @renovatedkitchen *throws a rock through your window and throws a penguin plush filled with rocks at you *

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:29:24 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                  1. @omni not sure if the burning penguin is dancing or trying to extinguish fire. Maybe it's going to panic

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:30:25 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                    1. @renovatedkitchen Linux never kernel panics.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:31:01 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                      1. @omni except when it's in flames

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:32:42 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                        1. @renovatedkitchen No. In that case it would output a "Thermal failure (CPU on fire?)" error message under some kernels.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:34:27 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                          1. @omni it can still work with a CPU on fire?

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:36:20 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                            1. @renovatedkitchen It is hard to make Linux give up. I've had it run on months on a dying hard disk, BIOS and processor. It kept warning my, but never gave up before the hardware did.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:38:58 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                              1. @omni that's pretty good. Linus builds seem cool, but I don't want to run wine to play games

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:40:34 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                1. @renovatedkitchen Who needs proprietary games anyway? I'm fine with Nethack, Minetest, Red Eclipse, Xonotic and Tux Racer.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:41:52 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                  1. @omni I like real games.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:42:23 UTC from web
                                    1. @zeldatra Define "Real Games".

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:43:07 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                      1. @omni Games that aren't knockoffs.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:45:29 UTC from web
                                        1. @zeldatra Warsow is not. Xonotic is not. Red Eclipse is not. Nethack is not. I can get you quite a huge list. Also, Minecraft is only a knock-off as well.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:46:56 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                          1. @omni Can't I enjoy my Adobe Flash in peace? Gawd.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:47:57 UTC from web
                                            1. @zeldatra What does a popular proprietary non-game have to do with this?

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:48:56 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                              1. @omni It means as an animator I can't switch to Linux, unless they've got an alternative for that as well.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:51:13 UTC from web
                                                1. @zeldatra Maya runs in linux, but flash, i dunno.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:52:20 UTC from web
                                                  1. @pony cherries 3D, man.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:52:44 UTC from web
                                                  2. @pony I have enough problems with Blender, Maya seems even harder.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:53:44 UTC from web
                                                    1. @zeldatra it's harder and easier. You get a lot more control in Maya as I understand so it's easier to get good results, but harder to learn how to use everything obviously, yeah.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:56:06 UTC from web
                                                2. @zeldatra We don't have the Adobe Flash animation software. I'm sure there is an alternative, but you need to be clear with stating your exact needs.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:55:19 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                                  1. @omni A 2D vector graphics animation program capable of frame-by-frame animation as well as tweens, with an object library and support for many layers, ActionScript, pen sensitivity, tilt sensitivity, and Adobe Illustrator-like smoothing.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:59:39 UTC from web
                                                    1. @zeldatra Well, at least that's precise, haven't gotten people to be clearer than "needs to be perfect" in a while. I'll think about it a bit when less tired.

                                        2. @zeldatra super shooter XTREME 3D (available only on linux)

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:47:18 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                    2. @zeldatra Warsaw, a free game with closed data (still free software) is a popular game in big eSport tournaments. Seems pretty "real" to me.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:45:23 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                      1. @omni *Warsow, derp

                                  2. @omni eeeeeewwwww. That would be a waste of my gaming rig

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:43:39 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                          2. @omni Which reminds me, sometimes Linux works a bit too well. When my power supply was dying, Windows kept BSoDing but Linux kept running without any issues so I didn't even notice my hardware was dying.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:36:55 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                            1. @omni so Linux is pretty much evil is what you're saying?

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:37:32 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                              1. @renovatedkitchen I posted an error message in which it told me to sacrifice my child earlier today, so yes, I think so.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:40:03 UTC from MuSTArDroid
                                1. @omni see! See!!

    2. @unhipdruid Unless you have a touch computer, it's pretty much Windows 7 with a fancy startup screen.

Sunday, 16-Dec-12 23:26:32 UTC from web
      1. @zeldatra And a terribly-designed and inflexible tiling window manager.
