@zeldatra I wasn't trying to attack you either, so I am sorry if I made you feel that way. I wonder what's causing stuff to often end like this, though. I mean, I know you just linked me to some things you think I did wrong but, apart from trying to start an, in my opinion, interesting discussion and making a crappy joke, I can't really see anything wrong with the way it. I will consider looking back at this later, when I have time and don't forgot (albeit I'm afraid I probably will) to find out how exactly I am making people feel like I'm attacking them.

@omni Don't sweat it. Look, I'll just stay out of your Linux discussions. If by some miracle I can find good use out of Linux, I'll join in as well. I promise to stop trying to make Windows a good thing, since if EXEs could run on Macs I'd be using those.

@zeldatra I think Macs have something which is comparable to WINE. I think it's called Darwin? I'm not sure. At any rate, your best bet is probably having more of your favorite software being ported over to Mac, as .EXE will stay Windows-only, or having your favorite software replaced by new favorite software which does run on a Mac. In most cases, it would be a matter of time. Seeing how the desktop market share of both Mac and Linux has really improved over the years, we can both expect more software coming our ways. So, waiting and hoping it is, I suppose :P

@omni Darwin is just an open sourced version of the Mach kernel. But I think wine can be installed from Mac-Ports.

@omni Not so far, it's most of the OS-X kernel. However, without the flashy interface bits.

@omni Most of my software runs on both Mac and Windows, but the big one (Flash 8) is from 2005 so I can't find the installer anywhere. Once I find that I'm making the switch.
