   Can someone help? When I switch to a different tab, sometimes at the top of this one it has a number in parenthesis like (5). Are these notifications and how do I check them? #confused

     @cherryfrost It's how many new messages have appeared since you switched to a different tab, generally you can ignore it (and it doesn't go away when you switch back cause browsers are stupid. :p)

     @cherryfrost It means new messages have appeared on whatever timeline you're on. It's just a guide to help you keep up with an active timeline. (If they're appearing next to the little "play" button right below the text box, click that.)
