      1. @neurario Yes, please do. The story can be summed up as "humans aren't perfect, so let's cause them all to go extinct and replace them with ponies". Some of the fan stories are even worse...

        1. @equestriagaming A more interesting and better executed take on that concept is "Friendship is Optimal", which is actually worth your time if you're into artificial intelligence and the ethics of transhumanism.

              2. @ceruleanspark For some reason Chatoyance's avatar causes me to feel a strange, creeping feeling of terror whenever I look at it, and I feel like running far, far away. I don't know why this is...

                  1. @ceruleanspark Probably. Her writing style has a similar effect on me, and I have had similar sensations with other people before.

                    1. @equestriagaming They came highly recommended by Eliezer Yudkowsky, so I suspect I already had an immunity from reading his magnum opus.

                      1. @ceruleanspark Let me get this straight...are you saying that Eliezer Yudkowsky recommended Chatoyance's work to people?

                        1. @equestriagaming I am saying precisely that.

This is the first and only effective horror novel I have ever read, since unlike Lovecraft, it contains things I actually find scary. "

                          1. @ceruleanspark Screw her sole intentionally scary story, the rest of them are what really horrify me. Her writing style almost comes across as vaguely demonic to me, and reading it gave me a really nasty headache.
