O am watching the looney tunes show on TV... This show is... not bad... but odd
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:20:11 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker Not bad but I prefer the Lola from Space Jam and not the nearly braindead one they turned her into.
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:21:05 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg Because the creators of this show had so much to work with in this Space Jam Lola Bunny ? ( not sarcasm, serious question )
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:23:27 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker I never said they had a lot to work with, but she was just my preference, and they could have expanded that character into anything really. But they had to go and create the cliche ditzy blonde that has to exist in every show.
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:24:23 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg I agree with that. Then again if they did write Lola Bunny as the ( couple of bolts short of a ) biker-chick or tomboy. I am pretty sure it would not be half as popular in America because there is no screwloose bimbo on the cast.
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:27:00 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker .....biker chick? Tomboy? She was basically the Bugs Bunny equivalent of Jessica Rabbit.
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:27:51 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg What, in Space Jam ?
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:29:10 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker Yes.
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:29:31 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg Youtube seems to back this theory when you watch an English clip ... Blame the Dutch... My point remains valid though, you could NOT cast a touch chick in a show in the 2010 era without a blonde bimbo somewhere else in the cast. Why ? Marketing and fear of failure. So if you were to make Lola tough, who would become the bimbo ?
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:32:00 UTC from web-
@critialcloudkicker ..... she's not tough though. I dunno where you got that. She was literally nothing but eye candy. She never passed off as a tough chick or a biker or something. XD she was a romantic interest.
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:33:28 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg If she was a tomboy in the Looney Tunes Show, or a tough chick, or even a romantic intrest who likes guystuff ( basketball ? ) we would not be having this conversation. I would rather discuss the reason why Lola Bunny in the Looney Tunes Show is coocoo-crazy than chasing a "oh boy I think some minor caracter from a movie from 17 years ago was awesome" , why ? Because by now everyone probably has their memories altered to remember the things that support their own theory behind the character ( head-cannon ) best. Remember the part where Lola Bunny taped up her scoring-hand with tape before the end match versus the Martians ? Yea that is where my head-cannon comes from that she is a tough go-getter. Regardless, in the end it does not matter what we think, or what our head-cannon is. In the end the person who wrote the script needed a [blonde bimbo love intrest to do goofy things]. Sure Lola is a bad cast, but IMHO everone else would be worse. look: http://derpy.me/5QA6q

@critialcloudkicker @flamingpandaomg I like her more in Space Jam than i do in that new show they have. She's nuts in the new show atleast in Space jam she was independent and not nuts XD

@flamingpandaomg The original Lola was a tacked-on character who served no purpose other than furry sex appeal and was an incredibly troubling portrayal of what was supposed to be The most important female Tune.
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:33:37 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin she may have been for sex appeal but she wasn't slutty
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:34:40 UTC from web -
@thelastgherkin All I'm saying is that just because she had sex appeal doesn't mean she was two dimensional. They could have made her off into almost anything from what little they had to her then.
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:35:10 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg yeah I agree because if you caught the details of how she talked and handled herself she wasn't the town "flirt" or anything she didn't like being talked to like that either hence the "doll" pet peeve and she was independent on her own my only issue of the movie is that she fell for Bugs which is flippin cliche as all get out and personally i think it was high time Bugs get a dose of his own medicine
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:37:15 UTC from web -
@flamingpandaomg If you're looking for fully fleshed-out characters in a Looney Tunes show, I don't know what to tell you. Sure, you can sum the new Lola with one word as "ditz", but you can do the same with Bugs, or Daffy, or Porky, or Speedy.
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:38:42 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin I wasn't even asking for fully fleshed-out characters. People just pass off Lola from Space Jam as one dimensional because of her short screen time. That's all.
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:39:49 UTC from web-
@flamingpandaomg You know i oddly felt the same way for Bunny from PPG about how she was "special" and people refered to her like that, i think if they brought her back they could have done more iwth her
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:41:01 UTC from web -
@flamingpandaomg Her entire character arc, such as it is, consists of going from "doesn't want Bugs" to "does want Bugs". The most important female character in the film is centred around reacting to a male character, and not only that but also serves to perpetuate the whole "a no is a yes in disguise" thing. She's an abhorrent character.

@thelastgherkin Darling I'm not sure mainstream media ever intentionally includes furry sex appeal
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:37:49 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark The Space Jam model for Lola Bunny was intentionally sexed up compared to her model in ancillary media, whether catering to furries or not. http://home.comcast.net/~toonfox/lolas.gif
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:41:09 UTC from web-
@thelastgherkin I'm a furry and I don't think either of those is "Sexed up"
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:42:47 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark YOU'RE A FURRY?! I never knew.

@ceruleanspark Have you seen the works of Jay Naylor? I'm a fan of his ^^ (That's as far in the furry community as i've gotten)
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:46:03 UTC from web-
@kittlefang The militantly right-wing guy?
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:48:17 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark he use to be but i think he's chilled out recently given his newest comic Original Life
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:49:49 UTC from web-
@kittlefang The Ayn Rand worship and the incest kind of put me off him. I think I read all of better days at one point.
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:50:32 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark Early better days i could so without a few things (incest part def) but the later part of Better Days especially with Beth I love, cause i identify with Beth's attitude about life ^^ but i'm willing to get more into other comic artists! If you have any suggestions ^^;
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:52:26 UTC from web-
@kittlefang I've /always/ had a huge soft spot for 2kinds, I read a lot of the Cyantian Chronicles/Tiffany Ross's stuff, but I'm not sure if it was good, or whether I was just a teenager at the time. I really like the comic housepets, but I haven't finished the archive so I can't guarantee the author doesn't flip out at the end.
Sunday, 07-Jul-13 17:54:23 UTC from web-
@ceruleanspark lol i'll look into them XD thanks!
