@ceruleanspark I'll check it out.

@purplephish20 Try the magnetometer. It's fascinating.
-
@ceruleanspark Oh my god my phone can sense almost anything
-
@scoot Is yours one of the phones with a barometer in it? The Nexus has the magnetometer, a bunch of acceleration sensors, a gyroscope and something that measures gravity.
-
@ceruleanspark It has these http://rainbowdash.net/attachment/343109
-
@scoot It DOES have a barometer! (The pressure sensor)
-
@scoot Put it in magnetic field mode and wave it over your running hard disk.
-
@ceruleanspark Aha, I wasn't certain if that was what you meant. Yeah I dunno WHY it has that
-
@ceruleanspark Oh wow all the numbers just shot up
-
@scoot Because sensors are cool
-
@scoot What I want to know is why it'd need a gravity sensor. If it's solely for an easter egg in which your phone joyously declares itself to be in space if you go there then I approve wholeheartedly
-
@scoot The magnetometer is actually what the device uses as its internal compass, rather than using the comparatively complex GPS module just to find out what direction you're facing.
-
@ceruleanspark Yeah that also seemed unneccessary but if it's so it can tell when it's in Space that is fantastic
-
@ceruleanspark How many games in the Play Store give achievements for playing them while in space? :o
-
-
@redenchilada The future: "You cannot use this app in your current location, as you only licensed it for use on earth"
-
@ceruleanspark "public static final float GRAVITY_DEATH_STAR_I"
-
@ceruleanspark "GRAVITY_DEATH_STAR"
-
@redenchilada I like the nerdiness implicit in "Death_Star_I"
