It only took me two hours, but I think my phone is fixed.

@thelastgherkin What was wrong with it?
-
@thelastgherkin What did the doctor say ?
-
@critialcloudkicker He told him to factory reset it.
-
@ceruleanspark You da doc ?
-
@bitshift Memory had depleted radically, to the extent that I could only take three photos at a time and not play any media.
-
@thelastgherkin ...just out of curiosity, was it one of the Samsung Galaxy line?
-
@bitshift Ace 2.
-
@thelastgherkin Yeah, they'll do that. The driver for the wireless chip in them crashes much more than it should, and the crash logs are kept forever, so they gradually fill up the storage. And the files can only be deleted by the system itself (which doesn't), or a root user (which means rooting your phone and is not a good idea for a regular user).
-
@thelastgherkin Had that happen on my S2, but from having family members with the S3 and S4, it's clearly not fixed even there. Really does not paint a good picture of Samsung.
-
@bitshift I do not have that on my T9001 ( Samsung Galaxy plus I think... or it might be an ace )
-
@critialcloudkicker From what I could gather, it's not quite as simple as just "every phone does it", because things make a difference like whether you have the WiFi on, or what kind of cell tower you're connected to, but it's definitely an ongoing Samsung thing. And it sucks.
