The one way I can guarantee I'm not responsible for any further drama is to simply refrain from posting forever.

@ceruleanspark But if you never post then who will call me a thief

@ceruleanspark That doesn't work either, I know from experience.

@colfax It might still happen, but I would not bear the guilt.

@ceruleanspark You shouldn't be bearing the guilt in the first place. It's a select few of the userbase that causes the majority of the drama here, not you.

@ceruleanspark Just bring back and enforce the "No arguing on site, if you disagree with a staff member's decision DM an admin" rule and there you have half the drama gone.

@rikka He would, and that's why hid idea wouldn't work.
Monday, 16-Sep-13 22:01:35 UTC from web -
@rikka I can say with certainty that the majority of the crap that hits the fan is flung into it by small portion of the userbase in total.

@rikka @flamingpandaomg When you do a fault analysis, there's no point in assigning fault to a part of the system you can't change afterward, it's like stepping off a cliff and blaming gravity. Gravity isn't going to change next time. There's no point in trying to allocate responsibility to people who aren't going to alter their actions. Once you look at it from that perspective, you realize that allocating blame never helps anything unless you blame yourself, because you're the only one whose actions you can change by putting blame there.

@ceruleanspark I don't think it's the best way to go since you're loading yourself up with so much unnecessary guilt though. Just my opinion.
Monday, 16-Sep-13 22:06:25 UTC from web -
@ceruleanspark @ceruleanspark But blaming yourself is only any good if there is something that you can change that was the cause of the thing going wrong, its more for mechanical faults than for faults with people. Unless you are directly involved with anything, the variables of human interaction are too numerate to contemplate let alone calculate and assign values to them. The best anyone can ever do is do what they think is best when they are there, worrying about it before or after destroys any human inaction and just leaves one paralysed by inaction and self doubt. If people drift away or argue you cant hold yourself responsible for what other people do or react, then we would just live in caves, (and I think we brought our keyboards into our caves so we could be a little less alone without going outside)

@ceruleanspark I feel bad when I see people arguing or upset, I reconsider nearly every post I make before I send it (especially after whatever meltdown I had last month), but if I just drifted off and never posted would that be a good thing or a bad thing,(and last month I did think about leaving, not becase of the site but because leaving groups due to social anxiety is what I have been good at) we should keep trying with each other and if bad things happen at least good things happened too. [and as for RDN you are trying to manage a bunch of people, who to be blunt are all immature, hormonal teenagers and are not totally mentally sound. I think its hard to get 'normal' people to work together (how anyone ever founded a business, corporation or political party is beyond me, have you seen the Left and parliament? Is full of people who like arguing) so keeping everyone together and happy on RDN all the time is just impossible. (2/3)

@rikka I'm not trying to single out people at all, I'm just saying that there are quite a few users that avoid the site or at least the argument in general, and there's a recurring theme of generally which users are either the ones who initially chuck the turd into the fan or who are the ones who are angry about said turd hitting the fan and are thus throwing their turds into the fan as well. That's all.

@rikka Anything is possible, I suppose.I don't think you are, but I could be right or wrong.
