      @sprite It's not a new thing. A few years back there was a shut down as well.

      @sprite There have been about 18 since 1976. It's not really that huge. The military and stuff is still active, the shut down only covers non-essential things.

      @sprite Honestly, if you don't live in DC and don't rely on food stamps it shouldn't effect you too much. Hell, I live just outside the city and as far as I can tell I'll be unaffected for the next four days (that's usually how long these things last.)

        @mrmattimation @sprite And I'm still meeting up with my recruiter Thursday and taking a test for the military Friday so the military and I are not affected thus far

          @lunanut Yeah, the military is one of those things exempt from Government shutdowns.
