I was to, but it just ate at me. Why? she could just be givin a royal title. Hell, she might have been thanks to being sister to Shining armor. but becoming an Alicore seems to be too much. She could have just been the first princess unicorn seen on show rather then another Alicore.

@circuithooves *Alicorn. Also the real reason she got turned into a princess is so Hasbro could sell more toys, princesses sell well. They didn't do it for story reasons. Also all princesses in the show are alicorns, of course she had to be one too.
-
@scoot @circuithooves Prince Blueblood isn't an alicorn, but he's royalty.
-
@pony I said princess. Only princesses are alicorns
-
@scoot sexist!
-
@scoot I never see Luna toys. anywhere.
-
@circuithooves Then she probably doesn't sell very well.
-
@pony he's right though
-
@circuithooves they''re around. Less common now though.
-
@pony Did you just call a concept written by an avowed feminist sexist
-
@circuithooves Plus I have never seen a commercial or anywhere on the internet about Luna toys other then sex dolls.
-
@circuithooves Luna Sex Dolls you say? MY INTEREST (among other things) IS PIQUED.
-
@ceruleanspark Well we have something in common.
-
@ceruleanspark @foxgopher that wasn't written by Faust to my knowledge. She only wrote that the royal sisters were unique I thought. They just happened to be female (because of the target audience). Now that alicornhood is accessible to others it would be sexist to say only mares may ascend unless there's a biological/genetic reason maybe.
-
@pony I said first princess.
-
@pony Look at King Sombra. Look at Discord, though he might not be the best example. They're powerful, so why couldn't they be alicorns? They aren't female. Sombra is a king! Still just a unicorn.
-
@circuithooves i know. It wasn't a rebuttal to your comment, just an observation. I think it would have been better to have Twilight (and Cadence) ascend in some other way to princesshood. If they wanted new toys they could have maybe just given them semi-cosmic mane maybe, like maybe thow a shimmer effect in.
-
@foxgopher They were also villains. Before Faust left I think there very well could have been male alicorn villains (just like NMM was a villain). The possibility of ascension to alicornhood now places a whole different meaning on being a winged unicorn, and that meaning seems to be that they're benevolent royalty. Nothing says it has to be only female (yet), but I admit it doesn't look to good for stallions right now.
-
@pony Chrysalis is also an Alicorn, essentially. It's gotta be a female thing. Idk why, don't ask me.
-
@foxgopher If you wanna say she was an alicorn then you'd have to say all of her minions were as well. I doubt all of them were female, maybe neutral..
-
@pony I'd go for neutral.
-
@foxgopher Then the question remains, how do they reproduce and why would they need a "queen"?
-
@pony She lays eggs right?
-
@foxgopher no canonical answer for you, but they are a rather insect-like species.
-
@pony Why must we argue about colored pony princesses?
-
@foxgopher it is one of the few things worth arguing about on Rainbow horse social site.
-
@pony Considering ponies are very under discussed
Scribus likes this. -
@foxgopher I agree. I don't know what's to blame for that though, honestly, except that the episodes are being produced at a normal human speed considering the money being spent on them.
