  1. @adiwan He is a doodoohead that first planned on tossing the thing because his dad said so. Only because I spoke the words "What do you want for it ?" and he immediatly said "money" I am now in this perdicament. I seriously looked at the power-usage of the components compared to new components of the same caliber ( i5's with a GTX 960 for instance, which would have more power to boot ) would actually be way more power-efficient, and have fresh warranty. I could slap such a machine together for a mere 420 Euro's. If you'd take the lifespan of 5 years ( which I'd be really lucky to get ), and add in the electricity-bill you'd pretty much even out after those 5 years ( providing nothing breaks ) with a pricepoint of ... 270-320 Euro ( est.) ... since it is not a pc I plan to use myself ( it is for someone else, I will just fix it up ). and the seller is a doo-doo-head I'll just say that I can cough up 85 Euro for it right now, see where the conversation leads me. I hope he knows bartering

  2. I am looking for a tech-pony to answer me the question of "Howmuch should I barter for an old PC off of one of my friends ? He's a smoker, and the case misses 1 leg, but the thing still contains a top-grade gen1 i7 on a sabertooth motherboard ( X58 ) and packs a GTX 570"

  6. @critialcloudkicker ^ also refuses to watch LOTR because it is "too old"

Monday, 16-Feb-15 15:11:12 UTC from web in context
  7. @zazie Hmm, ohkay, I might watch it one day then. Primary reasons being to have something to talk about during prep. Still I am talking about someone who did not see the original LOTR but loved "The Hobbit". And even though he claims not to like Sci-fi or fantasy flatout refuses to watch GoT... Yeah... *shrug* me neither

  8. @zazie How about "Suits" ? The chef ( whom I work with in the kitchen ) keeps hammering on about that one.

  9. @zazie That trailer gave me almost nothing by means of explaining what it is about, but it will go high on my to-watch list because it intrigued me :o

  11. @mastermushi I think she was mentioned by name in the series, but http://awoiaf.westeros.org/index.php/Category:Images_of_Alys_Karstark has zero images of her so I am going to guess she has yet to appear, also IMDB has absolutely no hits whatsoever so my best educated guess would be. nope

I could totally see Ted Danson al Ilyn Payne, or Billy Bob Thornton as Littlefinger, but Nicole Kidman as Cercei Lannister ? I do not think she could pull off the "Crazy eyes" well enough

  13. @mastermushi I was asking google "What if peter dinklage was not availible to cast in Game of Thrones"-like questions, but I have not found a cool article yet

  14. @mastermushi Hmm, well. Looks are "difficult" to "cast" right. After some googling I present you an image of what I thought to be pretty spot-on when I found this thing of Tyrion Lannister in 2008 or so http://jakemurray.deviantart.com/art/Tyrion-Lannister-253841859 . Even if beautiful ladies are WAY easier to cast than dwarven-midgets who can act really well.

  15. @zazie I should probably re-read... or, listen ( audiobooks ) ? the books to actively pick out the differences between what I have seen, and what I have read 15 years ago.

  17. @zazie Although I agree with you ( having only read book 1 and 2 ) ... There was something positively mind-blowing about seeing Prince Oberyn Martell in 1080P rather than black&white on paper.

  18. @mastermushi IMHO there is only 1 thing "Wrong" with Season 1 of Legend of Korra. Or rather, people have been telling me it is not their cup of tea since it was released. I bingewatched the whole thing so it did not bother me much/at all. S1 seems to have 2 story-arcs mashed into 1 season, at the same time, one of which has a little bit "it is tough to be a girl"-drama mashed into it. Which was not well recieved with my friends whom I know do not have empathic and/or compassion power to spare.

Even then still, it is a good story IMHO, enjoy it. Acting like a female kanine about the subject never made anything better anyway.

  19. @mastermushi Well, reading a story is way different to reading a scholarship-worthy textbook. Which in turn is way different from reading an encyclopedia.

Monday, 16-Feb-15 14:12:32 UTC from web in context
  20. @mastermushi Well, I only have seen S1 of Korra ( and all of Aang, in a mixmash of Dutch/English ( since it was on TV )) ... and... yeah... You pretty much do not need to have seen Legend of Aang to enjoy Legend of Korra. Unless if you are one of those lore-people. You know the kind, those whom go study WW2 before playing Wolfenstein the new Order. Not required at all, but nice in case you must know the finer details.

  21. @mastermushi Haha, that is a nice estimation, most people just go "*shrug*Idunno"... also half a page per minute is almost bragworthy :)

  22. @mastermushi Seen Legend of Korra yet ?

Monday, 16-Feb-15 14:01:47 UTC from web in context
  23. @mastermushi Howlong did it take you to go through the first book ? If it was anything less than 12 hours, wow. You're superman supermastermushi ?

Monday, 16-Feb-15 14:01:23 UTC from web in context
  24. @mastermushi Congratulations master :3

If you already read the books there is no real reason to see the series IMHO. Unless if you can watch it with someone

  25. @mastermushi On a sidenote, Game of Thrones season 5 will begin on the 8th of April. Trying to plow though S1-S4 will take you roughly 37 hours of bingewatching.
