Trying out a new web browser for Android by the name of "Bolt" let's see how it is. ^^ !androidbronies
-
My uncle is impressed with his little Sony Android phone. He's an Apple devotee :P !androidbronies
-
My uncle has a secondary Android phone, a Sony Experia, and is easily the smallest Android handset I have ever seen. O.o http://twitpic.com/6xq4dk !androidbronies !techponies
-
Also, on a completley different note, my phone has been running a LOT faster since I did the reset, it didn't get faster the first time I did it sometime back though, which is odd. O.o Can't complain though, of course! !androidbronies !techponies
-
Well, I guess there was ONE plus side to the hard reset of my phone yesterday (was trying to fix some problems and it didn't work, read more about it here http://ur1.ca/5bsda) it's made my phone run lightning smooth, in a way it didn't even when setting it up for the very first time. Still kiwied that I can't play Mega Drive games or use any video application besides htc's though. -__- !androidbronies !techponies
-
@redflash *truly, not tully. Oops. ^^;
-
@leonkfox Au contraire my friend. HTC hath provided: To access the "Pre-Boot Menu", turn the phone off, then when booting it back up, hold power and volume-down until you get the safe mode menu. You'll have 4 options. "Fastboot, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock". Navigate down to "Clear Storage" with the volume key, and press power to confirm. You'll be asked to confirm again by pressing volume up for yes, and volume down for no. It will then do a complete reset, the same way HTC would if you sent it to them post-bricking.
-
@ceruleanspark Ah, I didn't know about that. Thanks for the info. ^^ I will have to give that a try later tonight.
-
-
!androidbronies !techponies Well, I had an incredibly frustrating experience tonight. As I said in an earlier notice I decided to try and do a hard factory reset of my phone ,to see if it would fix two problems I was having. One was videos zooming in too far on anything other than the default htc video application (even if I tweeked with the app's settings) and the other was Mega Drive ROM's not loading in ANY emulator. I did a hard factory reset to see if it would fix all of these problems (backing up all of my applications apk files before I did) I reinstalled all of my apps and tested to see if either fault had fixed...neither had :/ Something in my phone is clearly buggered for this to happen, and I have NO IDEA what it could be. Could rooting be my only answer at this point? :(
-
It's looking like I may have to do a total restart of my phone again, not only are video files zooming in too far on any Android video player that isn't htc's, but now Mega Drive/Genesis ROM's won't open on the phone, on any emulator I try for said system. At first I thought it was a problem with Genesis A.D, but I just tried Gensoid and I had the same problem. Great, just bloody great...hope I can back up all of my applications and settings somehow. !androidbronies !techponies
-
It recognised them eventually...but two of the damn episodes (Sonic Rainboom and Suited for Success) were corrupt and need re-downloading :/ : I mean it WOULD play them to a certain point ,but it would up and say "this video can not be played" mid way through. !androidbronies
-
Well, this is frustrating. The standard htc video app won't acknowledge all the new FiM episodes, and others zoom in too far on videos. >< !androidbronies
-
@leonkfox I have no problem with the zoom. I don't see any problems there. Everything works as expected. When you see the progress bar and the controls during the video, there is a little icon in the left lower corner. The icon with the arrows pointing to the center of the icon says that the video is scaled to fit into the screen without breaking the aspect ratio. That's what I usually have.
-
@broniebrown I'll look into it, thanks :)
-
@broniebrown I click that icon, and it's still zoomed in too far on all of them, it is well and truly buggered :/ Every video player app for Android does this besides htc's own one.
-
-
Ah ,it's corrected itself now XD !androidbronies
-
According to Mustard (Android StatusNet client) I only have one @ reply on here, and it was 9 months ago from @Flaxx...I haven't even BEEN a member for 9 months :S 2-3 at most! !androidbronies
-
@ceruleanspark Did you hear about The Kindle Fire being US exclusive? :( !androidbronies
-
@ceruleanspark Shipping debacle? Not sure what you're refering to there, wil have to look into it. But I hope it is, one of the few tablets I would possibly CONSIDER buying not coming out here would irritate me something awful.
-
@leonkfox Yeah. They did a "Global" launch for the Kindle 3 that seemed to consist of "Let everyone order it at the same time but ship it to american customers first" I ordered mine the day after preorders opened and had to wait 2 months after release to get mine, but people in the US who placed orders way after me got theirs first. It got to the point where people were cancelling orders placed through amazon UK and re-ordering through .com and getting their devices faster.
-
@ceruleanspark Damn, sounds like a total mess. Well hopefully we'll get the device sooner or later.
-
-
Dissapointed, just as I'm starting to get interested in the "Amazon Kindle Fire" tablet, I discover it's for Americans only =/ !AndroidBronies !TechPonies
-
If I may ask, why is the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet getting so much hype? Are there not other 7" Android tablets on the market? !AndroidBronies !TechPonies
-
@leonkfox Yeah. I mean applications and having a manufacturer who actually cares about the device beyond just dumping it into stores. In 6 months time, Amazon won't be trying to sell you some other newer tablet. They'll be updating this one in the hope that you'll use it to buy more stuff from them, which is the same direction Apple approaches updates from, and notably, HTC, Motorola et al, are not,
-
@rotation I think 7" is the perfect size for a tablet (I've tried the BlackBerry Playbook and a few other 7 inch tablets) tablets like the iPad are much too big to type on comfortably wthout laying it down on a desk, at least for me personally.
-
@ceruleanspark I know Motorola and Samsung have made a wide array of tablets, but didn't htc only make the Flyer? How has it not been supported?
-
-
Eugh, I swear to god, if I were to change away from Android for my next smart phone ,it would be because I can not get a chat client that just...well, WORKS. imo IM keeps signing me out, Trillian won't connect on celluar data, most of them don't save logs...it's frustrating as well. !androidbronies
-
One little niggle I have with Launcher Pro, it doesn't let you move your home screens around :/ !AndroidBronies
-
Has anypony downloaded that "Pocket Rainbow Dash" application that Equestria Daily had an article on? !AndroidBronies
-
To anyone that has an Android phone and uses MoboPlayer, does it zoom in too far in on videos for you, and can you find no way of fixing it? Or if you can, what was your method? Would be greatly appreciated! !AndroidBronies
-
Just tried out Launcher7 (it makes your Android phone have a Windows Phone 7 like interface) it seemed pretty cool, but nothing beats Launcher Pro IMO. !AndroidBronies

@ceruleanspark It's alright, but I kind of thought to myself "If I wanted this interface I'd have gotten a Windows Phone 7 device" plus I missed the home screen set up I'd made on Launcher Pro over time.
-
@leonkfox I changed right after a reformat so I'd already lost my homescreens.
-
@leonkfox and Windows Phone 7 wasn't on the market when I got my phone, so I didn't have the choice.
-
-
Just watched the latest episode of Android Revolution...damn, how many new HTC phones?! http://goo.gl/dc0iX !AndroidBronies !TechPonies

Pinkie bounced over Blowtorch, went up, trotted back down to the Mustard icon, and then went all #missingno when she got the Mustard. Much as I try to grok the Pink? That was pretty #random.
-
@retl There's a Desktop Ponies for Android?
-
@derpytails Eeyup. They're glitchy as all hell though. !androidbronies
-
@derpytails There's an MLPFiM live wallpaper on the Android market that's basically that, yup. I's try searching for android on EqD. At least that's where I heard about it.
-
-
Anypony else play online with emulators?
Monday, 19-Sep-11 18:17:26 UTC from web-
@derpytails I know ,I've used emulators for all three. ^^ Sadly my Mega Drive emulator (GenesisAD) decided to stop loading ROM's and I've not found a decent replacement since :( I still have NES and SNES emulators though. :) !androidbronies !vgp
-
Anyone have any hints on how to get my MAME emulator to work. It's the Droid version and for some reason,everything but Crazy Baloon is missing files.
-
@alphakirby That's quite funny as I was just talking about MAME, also, if I do get a MAME Emulator, it'll be for Wii and I'll most likely be getting New Zealand Story, Ninja Kids, Space Gun and Ninja Baseball BatMan xD
-
-
!androidbronies An FiM theme for Launcher Pro, Go Launcher has one, so this needs to happen, and now. :D
-
@derpytails Thank you ^^
-
@derpytails Eeeewww! They mixed dock icob set with modified non-uniform iPhone parody set with completely different things. #doesnotapprove !androidbronies
-
@citrusrain that's fine, I like my android like that !androidbronies
-
-
!androidbronies group!? :D Joined!
-
@scribus Yeah, I only just discovered it yesterday myself ,thanks to @derpytails XD
-
-
I feel sorry for anypony out there with an Android phone made by htc, Samsung or Motorola that has yet to discover the wonders of Launcher Pro, and how much better it is than the launchers provided by these three companies. !androidbronies
-
To any other users of the Trillian Android app, does anyone else find it refuses to work when connected to mobile internet? !techponies !androidbronies
-
@derpytails Thanks :)
-
@leonkfox I can connect fine on my Trillian (using crappy 1x mode :P)
-
@derpytails What the hell..it refuses to send and recieve messages on celluar data for me!
-
-
Desktop ponies on MY android? It's more likely than you think....... "MLP FIM LiveWallpaper" - https://market.android.com/details?id=com.overkill.live.pony !androidbronies
-
@citrusrain As you may have saw, @ceruleanspark informed me of that, thanks for the input nonetheless :)
-
@leonkfox I seen after. I wasn't watching the stream, I was in Google +
-
@citrusrain Ah, okay, fair enough ^^
-
-
!Androidbronies this swiftkey keyboard makes me actually like typing on my phone. Its so awesome! /) ^3^(\
-
@shoutingryan I've seen a review of swiftkey last week http://is.gd/TmNOuT Seems pretty good. I'm glad that my Desire Z has a hardware keyboard.
-
-
Attention !androidbronies swiftkey x is amazon's free app of the day. And after my first 10 seconds of using it, it told me i was already typing 20% faster. And that was before I could look at it nicely. Heh... Just noticed that it's picking up on phrases like 20% cooler in the autocomplete... Which does not annoy like the standard one.
-
@shoutingryan I guess. I'm not uninstalling their app store, but it's kind of silly I had to go to such great lengths to download something free... which didn't work. #shrug
-
@starshine I know what it feels like... I ordered a mac mini from them once, along with a keyboard and $30 hdmi adapter, had to cancel the computer because when I hit "change credit card" it errored out and didn't tell me it charged my step dads card. I have the keyboard but never got the adapter. Made me skeptical of the app store. (was the first time ordering through them)
-
@shoutingryan I blame Wyoming.

-
@flaxx We're up on EqD!!! Your animation is the newest post! Well done! !androidbronies you may want to look: http://www.equestriadaily.com/2011/07/twilight-sparkle-boot-up-animation-for.html#more
