I'm gonna continue trying to set up this EZCap tomorrow, ordered a second double AV Lead a few hours ago. For now...bed. !techponies

@leonkfox Sleep well, and better luck tomorrow!

@scribusthehomicidalmaniac Thanks. ^^

Why do my splitters not have colour coding? :S !techponies
Friday, 14-Oct-11 00:09:31 UTC from web-
@leonkfox Do you have colored tape? Problem solved!
-
@redenchilada Um...no, not really ^^;
-
-
Trying to set up my EZCap as I cook pizza, and my n00bishness is showing in full. All the EasyCap videos show the USB Device having a wire with AV Leads to hook it up with, and the EZCap has no such thing... !techponies
-
@pinhooves Both the connectors on my splitters are white, does this mean it doesn't matter which ones (red, yellow or white) go into them? I am so bloody confused...
-
@leonkfox It all has to be matching colours. If you want, I could draw how it works. (If that's alright. :p)
-
@pinhooves Yes, please! ^^ I'd greatly appreciate it!
-
-
Hm, seems I need 2 double ended AV cables, and I only have the one. The other one should be cheap, I hope. !techponies
Thursday, 13-Oct-11 23:12:59 UTC from web-
@pinhooves Don't you need two of them to see footage on the TV and monitor at the same time?
-
@leonkfox There are 2 female RCs and 1 male RC. The console AV cables go into one female, while the double sided AV cables go in the other female. You decide whether the male goes in the TV or EzCap.
-
@pinhooves Also, the cables have to be matching colours for each splitter. For example, if the splitter is plugged in the red audio, both console av and double sided av need to have the red cord plugged in.

!techponies Overnight, Firefox has mysteriously developed a condition where it works properly for a few minutes, then inexplicably stops responding to middle-clicks until restarted. Since I use middle-click to open new tabs very frequently, this is severely hindering my browsing abilities. I'm disabling add-ons to see if one of them is the cause, but I'm very much open to other suggestions that don't involve switching to another browser.
-
@puzzlemint !techponies It's looking like it might be a problem with the latest version of TabMix Plus. This is.. horrendous. Firefox is effectively worthless without TabMix Plus. So is every other browser, for that matter.
-
@puzzlemint Hrmm... I don't have that problem, but I have an interesting issue where stuff stops loading, or at least displaying, until I move the mouse. Firefox, why you so derp recently?
-
-
I mean installation, what you need to connect to what connector etc, you get the deal. !techponies

Okay, time for a n00bish question, would a set up tutorial for an Easycap also work for an EZCap? !techponies
Thursday, 13-Oct-11 22:35:05 UTC from web-
@pinhooves Fair enough ^^ You can see the ones I have in the video you commented on earlier.
-
@pinhooves Are there any videos that resemble your set up, or no?
-
@leonkfox The setup in this video is slightly different, but uses the same splitters. You can either plug the spitters in the TV or the EzCap. Hopefully this link will skip to the time it shows how splitters are used. http://youtu.be/FYBYzSiyjeY?t=3m15s

Aaand I have now saved all of the citizens in Damascus ^^ (Assassin's Creed) will work on the viewpoints later, now onto the EZCap. !vgp !techponies

Gonna have to look up a tutorial on how to set the EZCap up, heh. Hopefully this should go smoothly enough. !techponies

Watching "Terra Nova," these far-future computers have such an over-stylized borderline-illegible font on them... Nice to know that UIs will remain stupid for a few hundred years. !techponies

My uncle has a secondary Android phone, a Sony Experia, and is easily the smallest Android handset I have ever seen. O.o http://twitpic.com/6xq4dk !androidbronies !techponies
-
Also, on a completley different note, my phone has been running a LOT faster since I did the reset, it didn't get faster the first time I did it sometime back though, which is odd. O.o Can't complain though, of course! !androidbronies !techponies
-
Look what arrived in the post today, I WOULD be excited, if a friend hadn't informed me that it was useless for Xbox 360 recording. Going to try and flog it off at CEX today. http://twitpic.com/6wg898 !techponies
-
Well, I guess there was ONE plus side to the hard reset of my phone yesterday (was trying to fix some problems and it didn't work, read more about it here http://ur1.ca/5bsda) it's made my phone run lightning smooth, in a way it didn't even when setting it up for the very first time. Still kiwied that I can't play Mega Drive games or use any video application besides htc's though. -__- !androidbronies !techponies
-
@redflash *truly, not tully. Oops. ^^;
-
@leonkfox Au contraire my friend. HTC hath provided: To access the "Pre-Boot Menu", turn the phone off, then when booting it back up, hold power and volume-down until you get the safe mode menu. You'll have 4 options. "Fastboot, Recovery, Clear Storage, and Simlock". Navigate down to "Clear Storage" with the volume key, and press power to confirm. You'll be asked to confirm again by pressing volume up for yes, and volume down for no. It will then do a complete reset, the same way HTC would if you sent it to them post-bricking.
-
@ceruleanspark Ah, I didn't know about that. Thanks for the info. ^^ I will have to give that a try later tonight.
-
-
!androidbronies !techponies Well, I had an incredibly frustrating experience tonight. As I said in an earlier notice I decided to try and do a hard factory reset of my phone ,to see if it would fix two problems I was having. One was videos zooming in too far on anything other than the default htc video application (even if I tweeked with the app's settings) and the other was Mega Drive ROM's not loading in ANY emulator. I did a hard factory reset to see if it would fix all of these problems (backing up all of my applications apk files before I did) I reinstalled all of my apps and tested to see if either fault had fixed...neither had :/ Something in my phone is clearly buggered for this to happen, and I have NO IDEA what it could be. Could rooting be my only answer at this point? :(
-
It's looking like I may have to do a total restart of my phone again, not only are video files zooming in too far on any Android video player that isn't htc's, but now Mega Drive/Genesis ROM's won't open on the phone, on any emulator I try for said system. At first I thought it was a problem with Genesis A.D, but I just tried Gensoid and I had the same problem. Great, just bloody great...hope I can back up all of my applications and settings somehow. !androidbronies !techponies

My webcam (Playstation Eye) seems to have stopped working with my PC. :S Well ,this doesn't take the papayas at all. -_- !techponies

HTC Sensation XL, Rhyme, Amaze...3 new @htc phones in the space of the last month or so. Why do these guys release SO MANY HANDSETS? @_@ !techponies

I'm not a fan of Apple, at all, but it's hard to deny that Steve Jobs was an innovator, and a major player in Pixar's start up, RIP. !techponies
Wednesday, 05-Oct-11 23:56:27 UTC from web- Brendan repeated this.
-
@leonkfox I'm not a fan of Apple either, but it sure is sad this happened. :(
-
@leonkfox I like Apple -- I use Macs at home -- but haven't thought much of Steve Jobs' tactics of late, and I know that he was a control freak and a nightmare to work with. But he was also a visionary, his impact on the world is undeniable, and I'd argue that he has left the world a better place, and I respect the heck out of him for it. May he rest in peace.

I'm hearing that Steve Jobs has died...is it another overblown rumour, or actually true this time? !techponies

So Apple announced the iPhone 4S at their keynote tonight? I was expecting it to be called the iPhone 5, but I doubt I'll buy either phone anyway. I was hoping Apple might have said something on the next generation iPod Touch, the one Apple product I would even CONSIDER buying. !techponies
-
@ceruleanspark nice
-
@princezach121k Neither of those were mentioned, to my knowledge.
-
@ceruleanspark Fair enough. I have no such use for it though.

Dissapointed, just as I'm starting to get interested in the "Amazon Kindle Fire" tablet, I discover it's for Americans only =/ !AndroidBronies !TechPonies
-
If I may ask, why is the Amazon Kindle Fire tablet getting so much hype? Are there not other 7" Android tablets on the market? !AndroidBronies !TechPonies
-
@leonkfox Yeah. I mean applications and having a manufacturer who actually cares about the device beyond just dumping it into stores. In 6 months time, Amazon won't be trying to sell you some other newer tablet. They'll be updating this one in the hope that you'll use it to buy more stuff from them, which is the same direction Apple approaches updates from, and notably, HTC, Motorola et al, are not,
-
@rotation I think 7" is the perfect size for a tablet (I've tried the BlackBerry Playbook and a few other 7 inch tablets) tablets like the iPad are much too big to type on comfortably wthout laying it down on a desk, at least for me personally.
-
@ceruleanspark I know Motorola and Samsung have made a wide array of tablets, but didn't htc only make the Flyer? How has it not been supported?
-
-
God damn it Firefox I am so sick of your papayas. You do NOT need to increment the full version number for every minor addon-breaking patch! !techponies
-
@dustyhooves No way, Firefox 3 is best.

@dustyhooves Netscape?

@dustyhooves firefox, with ad-blocker only.
