@hakupony I disagree on that front. Plato was very much into fate and that the noblest way to live was to accept it(fate). My point is not that the god of war games are wrong...it is that they are steeped in modern thinking, which is fundamentally different from how people thought at the time the games are supposed to happen. To a degree, that is inevitable, but Kratos is still a bit jarring to me.

@valiantratchet well I never got a psp so I am not ashamed to ask: are you saying that Kratos is an olympian himself? Because that would pretty much invaludate my argument. :)

@hakupony but...but the classical greek hero does fail. Because fate is hard, and he is ultimately not as powerful as the olympians. That is where the god of war games fail, by giving Kratos control over his own destiny...something greek mythology is very adamant about man NOT having.

Anyway, I have stuff to pack in little boxes. I'm keeping all my RPGs and looking forward to having regular game nights because it'll be my own damn house (Well, it'll be the bank's house, but I'll own 50 % of the debt.) I'll try to dash a bit more often again once I've settled in.

@colfax I think I may have unintentionally made her seem a bet mean. She didn't forbid me, she said, "please don't go, I'd be afraid you'd get in the paper and then I'd have to explain it." Tbh, the local meet-up consist of just 15-16 year old kids, and that may be part of it.

BTW, there are various reasons why I haven't been on here for the past few months, but now I can reveal the big one: I'm becoming a home owner! There're good news and bad news regarding that. The good news: It's awesome. The bad news; my woman is anti-brony and so she has stipulatd that once I move in, I can't go to any brony meetup, EVAR. Stupid girlfriend...
