@tiffany The lyrics to Lazarus are haunting in retrospect http://m.imgur.com/DmltV4h,1byUDpJ Those first lines talking about how he's up in heaven and that he's got scars no one can see, you can tell he was dying and knew it, but didn't make it publicly known. Interestingly enough, the ending of the song seems to draw reference Charles Bukowski's "Bluebird", which was a poem all about the fear of letting go and revealing oneself. The poem had many themes of alienation and the release of death too, and the dichotomy between the freedom it provided and the heartbreak it caused.

Speaking of Monogatari, I get super nostalgic and wistful listening to the ending theme of Bakemonogatari. It reminds me of a really specific point in my life back in high school and the people I hung out with during that period. I happened to be just getting into the Monogatari series at the time (as well as just getting back into anime in general, since for a while my interest had in it had kind of cooled) and Bake had a huge impact on me, especially its really pretty and stylish ending theme. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=S2TJ1qqeRD8

Didn't realize James Blake covered this, I think it might be my favourite cover of this song I've ever heard (and I've heard a ton of covers of this song). James always does great covers because he's able to recontextualize songs well within his own style while maintaining the sentiments of the original.
