@metaltao Please don't try to avoid the filter

haha guys red thinks its a joke
-
@scoot It'd be neat to watch a stream of it as while I can't afford it at the moment I'm definitely very interested in it. Its visual design alone looks excellent.
-
@scoot I've heard about this game before and it looks pretty neat, I'll have to look into it sometime. Right now I'm still getting playtime out of Fire Emblem Fates.
-
@scoot When I first watched it I was a kid and it really flew over my head, but then I watched it again late into high school when I was going through a really rough patch and everything just kinda clicked emotionally for me with it. These past few months have been awfully tiring and draining on me, both emotionally and physically, and though I've been trying to hide it people who know me well offline have all expressed concern with behaviours they've noticed me exhibiting. NGE ultimately draws optimistic conclusions to its themes though, so watching through it could end up being the catharsis I need. I dunno.
-
@scoot It's an emotionally exhausting show. I'd like to rewatch it again sometime as a handful of people I know have been watching it lately, but I'd really need to psyche myself up for it.

@mrmattimation The show's subtext is actually well aware of this!
-
@spots It has some of the best character writing I've seen in the medium as a whole, I think what makes it so powerfully intense is that beneath its veneers of post-apocalyptic sci-fi storytelling it also understands people and the affects of mental illness on them really, really well. Pretty much everyone in Neon Genesis Evangelion is broken in some capacity and it really emphasizes the fragility but also perseverance of the human condition. It's an incredible thing to experience.
-
@spots Would you believe me if I said it's gonna get even more intense?
-
@spots How far in are you?
-
@mrmattimation It's okay Matthew I saw the Sword Art Online body pillow you were hiding
-
I can't believe Matt comes onto this anime fansite every day and can't even use chopsticks smh
-
@mushi I doubt it. Unless it has a lot of post game content I don't even know if I'll play it as much as X, which I played through twice.
-
For a while Pokemon X was my most played game on my 3DS but I think Fire Emblem Fates as a whole has broken that record.
-
@spots E for effort eviscerating a plate
-
@vriska Oh, I love Pokemon too, and you can pretty much sell anything to me with Pokemon attached to it, I'm just openly speculating about the franchise.
-
@scoot This how I'd describe one of my profs
-
@spots So that's why my parents didn't let me use the microwave as a kid, haha
-
@tiffany I guess that's why people call you Shaggy
-
@tiffany Not on the new carpet
-
@tiffany Zygarde more like Tryharde
-
@vriska Those are my genuine thoughts on the prospect of new Pokemon games
-
@tiffany I feel like if I'm gonna get roped into buying a new Pokemon game I'd prefer one that actually had some new Pokemon
-
@tiffany Pokemon Z existing would feel more like fanservice than a game I'd really be interested in, like it was a game GameFreak were obligated by fans to make out of an arbitrary need for a third game.
-
@tiffany Eh, this is all open speculation. In any case I'd case rather get a (purportedly) new game as opposed to XY repackaged with a few new bells and whistles.
-
@tiffany True, but I think if we were to get a Pokemon Z it would really only exist for its own sake without adding context or perspective to XY.
-
@tiffany You think so? X&Y had issues but not ones a third game would retroactively fix.
-
@tiffany Did we really need a Pokemon Z anyway?
-
@scoot Oh I've seen previews for that game, it looks pretty great
