@nerthos I am not saving my virtue for the wedding night.

@nerthos There are AI enemies, just no NPC humans. It's kind of a man vs. nature sort of thing in that every AI that you DO encounter is usually a wild animal (or a busted robot). There's the usual stuff, there are feral ghouls, super mutants, robots, deathclaws, mole rats, etc. etc., but then there's also some new ones. Scorched are ghouls that are in between feralism and still having some semblance of brain activity, so they don't communicate verbally but they can use guns. Mole Miners hang out in the coal mines and I THINK they're people that have gone mad? I'm not sure, the game's really ambiguous about what they actually are, and you can't see what's underneath their masks. Scorched Beasts are, uh, really buff dragons. The closest thing I've seen to an actual NPC is a supercomputer who reads poetry to you, and I want to put her AI into a synth body and marry her.

@nerthos The micro transactions are for cosmetics and reskina only, and they’re all cosmetics you can get anyway if you explore enough. I wouldn’t worry about that. I can’t say much about the base building other than you initially don’t have a lot to work with (you gotta find plans to build almost everything) but my friend who spent HOURS building stuff in Fallout 4 really likes it. Once you HAVE found blueprints and stuff there’s a lot to work with, more than FO4 I think. It’s bugged right now in that crafting benches don’t always store properly when you move your base but Bethesda’s aware of that issue and it’s being patched in the next update. The other thing is that finding building supplies is waaaaay more time consuming in this one than it was in Fallout 4, they re-balanced it so that screws and springs are harder to find (I think it was to encourage more exploration but i’m not sure). Our bases have only been attacked by AI so far, other players don’t care enough.

@nerthos believe it or not, I haven’t actually played it. Watching Bethesda’s PR do the exact wrong thing in every interaction they have with the fanbase is pretty entertaining though.

@nerthos I could go on and on about how much I adore Fallout 76’s open world. It’s an extremely buggy game (although I haven’t encountered NEARLY as many problems as everyone else seems to be, graphical glitches aside) but I think the game’s getting waaaaaay more hate than it deserves. I play these games mostly for the exploration (why I didn’t enjoy New Vegas very much, the Mojave’s open world was boring as hell and the dungeons weren’t anything special either) and Appalachia is a really cool space to explore. Plus I got FRENS exploring with me now, and that’s basically all I wanted from the game. It’s a deeply flawed and, in some respects, unfinished experience, but one i’m enjoying a lot.

@nerthos Big kitty! I adopted a tiger and a cheetah through the San Diego Zoo as a gift for my mom. :3

@nerthos he also suport that bcause of the polictical crysis peopel need to chose between having rights and no jobs or hvign jobs and no rights, but revuses to stop getting housing assistance (despite owning a house in brasília), personal assistance , phone assistance, travel assistance and so on (all of this sum up to hundreds of thousands of R$, plus his own salary), so he is a straight up hypocritical. and his reason to keep getting all those assistances while removing all the ones the regular people get is that he doesnt want to lose what he already has
ALso, when asked what he did with 40K of housign assistance is he already had a house his answer was "i use it to eat people" -
@nerthos he will most likelly just be a puppet of his goverment team as him shimself doesnt know anything. he constanly answers "i dont know" when asked anything about anything. All the other candidates had solid purposed regarding the problems brazil is right now, different from him, whose purposes are to all as good as the ones i told you. but since the he built his whole polictcal carreer on saying everything is to blame on communists and other monirites, people go straihgt to him so they can assume everything is other people's fault, not his.
-
@nerthos this time i'm worried for real. Autorithariam government and the feear of a made up communist threat is the exact same recipe for the 2 dictatures we already had. And his Vice president, an Army Major is also openly favorable to the military dictature, so even is he got impeached it would make no difference
-
@nerthos he never really answer anything they ask him, and brainwashed people who jumped into the ant-PT bandwagon to just assume that everyone who points his flaw is communist. Includint the "the economist" newspaper and French's extreme right.
-
@nerthos there was on day he was asked about banks. The journalist said that a problem brazil had in compariso ton USA, for example, was that there was way too few banks here and asked him how he intended on changing that. He said "making it easier to create new banks, I guess" and when asked how he just said "i dont know, why are you asking this to a former captain of the army?"
-
@nerthos ridiculous doesnt even describe it. once they asked him what was his plan to improve improve sanitation. He said his plan was to make a familiar planning program for the areas with poor sanitation so they'd have less children (?).
Also, his plan to reduce corruptions is no more contcrete than simply "fighting corruption". -
@nerthos because if it is. I'd say having a presitend who says children die because the mothers have cavities, that platypus milk is an amazonian product and is is constantly saying he supports the military dictature is not not my biggest dream
-
@nerthos you mean about the elections?

For the people who care about federation (Probably just @nerthos and @awl) I have no idea why it isn’t working. This is actually a new server, at a new hosting provider and a functionally fresh install of RDN’s version of statusnet. So unless DigitalOcean, Cloudflare, or the other instances themselves are blocking us (or them), there’s no particular reason why it *shouldn’t* work.
-
@nerthos Eh, who needs the stress? I'll just go be a bearded mountain weirdo.

@nerthos @ayy Oh yeah, one thing I didn't think about: The Li-ion have proper 1.5 V output and the NiMH of course have 1.2 V output. I haven't had this problem since the 90s, but I've heard some people say that they have electronics that still require that full 1.5 V, and they're stuck on alkalines for that reason. That reason is now gone!
-
@nerthos @ayy oops 35 USD was for an 8-pack. So NiMH and Li-ion are basically head-to-head, on Amazon and elsewhere.
I wonder what the form factor on these is. One reviewer on that NiMH posting complains that ReCyko+ are a little bit too big for some AA casings and I agree. Don't know why they made that mistake. I hope for their sake the Sorbo ones are properly AA. -
@ayy @nerthos
Here's how they look. And I was wrong, they're half the price I said. 20 USD for a 4-pack 3000 mWh. Meanwhile, GP ReCyko+ 3000 mWh go for 35 USD for a 4-pack. But that may be that particular seller -- I think I bought 2 ReCyko+ Pro 3900 mWh for 10 USD in the photo shop a few months back.
