@omni Because people say they will do far more things than what they're capable of. "That essay? I can do it in an hour" "Heh, drinking two bottles of tequila is nothing" "I'm going to marry the perfect woman, have three children, and live happily ever after in a nice house in the countryside" and so on. See, when a situation is stressful and obnouxious, you just don't get into it. If others want that thing done, they might as well do it themselves. You're not under a contract or anything. You can just refuse.
