@pony According to various other people who've come out the woodwork, who claim to have worked at other cons, normally you pay a deposit, then you pay after the fact for "work done". (For instance, whatever your owed percentage is on signed stuff). I don't know where that leaves you on comped rooms/flights etc. I don't think they'll stop doing appearences, as they all seem to know who the blame lies with, but they might start investigating who they sign up with more intensely, but that shouldn't pose an issue for people who /are/ operating above board.
