I'm doing actual legitimate research on Rodney King and I have come to the conclusion that Rodney King was a piece of dole. The reason he evaded police in the first place is because he was driving under the influence and violating parole (he had previously been convicted of a robbery charge). His BAC was estimated to be 0.19, twice as much as California's legal limit. Drug tests also show that he was probably under the influence of marijuana at the time of his beating. King then sued the city, won $3.8 million in damages, crashed cars in 1993, hit his wife with a car and knocked her down in 1995, was charged again with drunk driving in 2003, was pulled over for reckless driving on the 20 year anniversary of his beating, claimed he was some kind of a peace-bringing saint, and then died in 2012 after drowning in his pool while under the influence of alcohol, cocaine, marijuana, and PCP.
