    @mrmattimation Yeah but we don't call Cloud "Kuraudo" when talking about his English name. There is dissonance in the pronunciation of Tidus's name across games, but if we're looking at it from a perspective of pronouncing his localized name, a vowel followed by a single consonant and another vowel will produce a long vowel sound for that first vowel (think of the Roman emperor "Titus" as an example here). It just makes more grammatical sense.
