!vgp In other other news, I took my DS to a shop today to see if they could repair it -- turns out the damage was.. well, the worst-case scenario that I had considered. The ribbon cable for the top screen is physically damaged and needs to be replaced. And at the price it would cost to get a new ribbon cable -- if I even HAD that much money to spare -- I may as well just get a new DS. Hell, I saw one on Amazon that was $6 cheaper.

!college In other news, I made an OR gate out of switches and wires in Elec lab today. If I could figure out how to cobble together a NOT gate to go with it, I could make.. well, anything, theoretically.

!calgary The house in Didsbury has sold and the mad rush to find a place to rent in town is now on. This is good, but, the financial situation it leaves us in is not a pretty one. I'm going to need to find a part-time job as soon as possible, which is going to make my schedule pretty tight. I'm hoping to find something that will still allow me to attend the meetups, but I can't afford to be picky about it. And I might not be able to make it to this week's meetup, since we're going to be spending most of the day hauling things down here from Didsbury.

Do try to hold off on commenting on the episode for at least a day so that those who work get a chance to see it. How do I calculate a derivative using Δy/Δx? Like, what are the individual steps involved in calculating the derivative of y=3x^2-2x using Δy/Δx? || 'cause I know right off the top of my head that dy/dx=6x-2, but I don't know how to actually calculate it.

*wipes sweat from forehead* that was AWESOME. I just finished all the missions in Saints Row 2 on difficulty setting 3 out of 4, gonna redo it on a later date on difficulty setting 4 out of 4. Probably this later date will be a sooner date if I can find some cool mods for looks and such :D !VGP

@puzzlemint It looks like we could maybe hang out a bit at lunch tomorrow if that'd work. Me and @pseudoartiste both have class that's theoretically until 5 but we missed the first one so we're not sure. Other than that, my schedule is until 5 on Mondays and varying times on Thursdays. (5 if there's a crit or something, earlier otherwise.)

@mayhapmurklins Lunch sounds cool! As for after class, I'm planning on going sketchbook shopping -- I already invited @pseudoartiste, you're more than welcome to come along as well. If you guys want, email me (puzzledmint@gmail.com) and I'll send you my phone number so you can try texting me -- just be aware that I have to keep my phone turned down for class and I have a bad habit of forgetting to check it for long periods of time. Failing that, I'll hang around the C-Train station at lunch and after class, and I guess I'll see you if I see you.

@vesperline Really? I heard that the gameplay of 2 was no different than the first, and actually got boring after awhile because there was no compelling story to back it up. !vgp

@kelou4 Well, it is a sequel. So its essentially going to be the same game with some tweaking. All around the combat is improved. The most notable change is having both plasmids and weapons available at the same time, instead of switching back and forth. Sounds minor, but its the little conveniences that can make the biggest diff. And while the story definitely isn't as compelling, its by no means horrible. If you liked playing the first one I recommend it, but not over entirely new games you might really want to play.

It would be nice to be able to be able to hang out with people who share a common interest on more than an "every other saturday"-basis. Um, you know, if that's alright with you..</fluttershy>

!calgarybronies This weekend was awesome and pony filled! Thanks to all the ride-giving people! It was very nice and helpful. Also, thanks to @puzzlemint for the Pinkie Pie! She makes this temporary and unpleasant place happier. :) My Monday class ends at 5, but I have to leave right away 'cause my mom's picking me up for an appointment out of town.

!college My COMM256 has us doing the Kiersey Temperament Sorter as part of our homework. I really hate those things. 71 questions, most of which are fairly ambiguous, and some of which are downright nonsensical. Then for each question, you have to choose only one answer, from a set of only two possible answers, which are almost always NOT mutually-exclusive. || I could only honestly and accurately answer 26 of the 71 questions using the options provided. So I decided to copy down all the questions and write out honest, accurate answers for all of them. I saved the file as "Pulling teeth.docx" || Oh well, at least now I know for sure that I'm an Idealist. Science said so.

@puzzlemint !calgary I believe that's the one, yeah. Personally I find it easier just to walk, it's almost a straight line west from 7th street station downtown but it's also 20-30 minutes depending on pace. Up to you. It technically starts at 5PM but the room usually isn't clear until 6 or we tend to wait until then. @conjure and I will also be slightly later then 5 since we're picking up Ikasama but we'll be there before 6.

@phoenixswift Well the thing is I also have to swing by SAIT and pick up all the crap I left in my locker because I didn't want to haul it out to the BBQ, so walking would be a pain in the kiwi.
